MLB Pro Model Stacks: Thursday 7/27

This series uses the FantasyLabs Tools to analyze MLB stacks in the day’s slate. The series does not provide play or fade recommendations. It provides analysis.

Miami Marlins

With the Lineup Builder, it’s easy to incorporate stacks into DFS rosters. In the main slate, the top five-man DraftKings stack in the Bales Model belongs to the Marlins:

The Marlins have the second-highest implied total on the slate with 4.9 runs (per our Vegas Dashboard). Tyler Moore leads the stack in recent Statcast data. He has a recent batted ball distance of 249 feet, an exit velocity of 97 miles per hour, and a 50 percent hard hit rate. It is worth noting that Moore has limited at bats over the last two weeks. With a Recent Batted Ball Luck in the 97th percentile, he has been hitting the ball extremely well but having bad luck as a fantasy producer.

J.T. Realmuto also has solid Statcast data with a recent batted ball distance of 237 feet and exit velocity of 94 miles per hour. Slugger Giancarlo Stanton has been absolutely mashing the ball in July. Per our Trends tool, Stanton has a +5.16 Plus/Minus and a 45 percent Consistency Rating this month. This includes 12 home runs in 82 at bats and a .805 slugging percentage.

Chicago Cubs

On FanDuel, one of the top four-man stacks in the CSURAM88 Model belongs to the Cubs, who have an implied total of 6.5 runs, the highest mark on the slate:

Anthony Rizzo has solid Statcast data with a recent batted ball distance of 232 feet and an exit velocity of 93 miles per hour. Leading the stack in wOBA and ISO differentials is Kyle Schwarber with .063 and .148. This stack excludes Kris Bryant, who is projected to bat second in the order (per our Lineups Page). By leaving Bryant out of the stack, you may create a unique lineup using a team likely be the chalk due to its implied run total. Pro subscribers can review ownership rates after lineup lock via our DFS Ownership Dashboard.

New York Yankees

We have recently integrated FantasyDraft tools and data into our Models. The Yankees possess one of the highest-rated six-man stacks:

The Yankees are implied for only 4.4 runs, as they take on Tampa Bay Rays ace Chris Archer, but the Yankees offense is still elite. You may be able to get the Yankees at a reduced ownership due to their opponent on the mound.

Aaron Judge continues to crush the baseball, as his recent Statcast data indicates with a recent batted ball distance of 259 feet. He is one of the top batters in the Bales Model. His .408 wOBA and .301 ISO against right-handed pitchers both lead the stack, but Gary Sanchez‘s .401 wOBA and .272 ISO are not far behind. Both hitters stand out in this stack and against right-handed pitchers.
