MLB Pro Model Stacks: Thursday 6/1

This series uses the FantasyLabs Tools to analyze MLB stacks in the day’s slate. The series does not provide play or fade recommendations. It provides analysis.

Los Angeles Angels

With the Lineup Builder, it’s easy to incorporate stacks into DFS rosters. The five-man DraftKings stack with the highest CSURAM88 Model rating in the main slate belongs to the Angels:

The Angels currently lead all teams with a 77 DraftKings Team Value Rating despite seeing their implied total drop by 0.3 runs. The two hitters at the top of their projected lineup have Bargain Ratings of at least 75 percent, and Yunel Escobar is expected to return after a stint on the disabled list with a hamstring strain. The projected 4-5-7 hitters all have recent hard hit and distance differentials of at least +6 percentage points and +10 feet, and Jefry Marte leads all hitters with 10 Pro Trends. This quintet is among the cheapest stacks in the main slate, allowing you to pay up for a pitcher. In his limited action, Twins lefty Adalberto Mejia has averaged a 1.778 WHIP and 1.6 HR/9 — the worst marks in the main slate.

Toronto Blue Jays

The top four-man FanDuel stack in the TheSportsGeek Model belongs to the Blue Jays, who are presently implied to score a slate-best 4.9 runs (per our Vegas Dashboard):

Every hitter in the stack possesses negative ISO differentials against left-handed pitchers, but Yankees starter CC Sabathia has allowed a distance differential of +37 feet and a hard hit differential of +15 percentage points over his last two starts. When the Blue Jays faced Sabathia last month, they scored six runs in the first two innings and forced Sabathia’s exit after four. Devon Travis is similar to Twins second baseman Brian Dozier in Statcast data and monthly Consistency Rating, and Dozier costs $600 more and is likely to have higher ownership, which Pro subscribers can review after lineup lock via our DFS Ownership Dashboard.

Boston Red Sox

The top four-man ISO stack belongs to the Red Sox, who are presently implied to score 4.7 runs:

The Red Sox currently rank first with a 77 Team Value Rating on FanDuel, where only two projected hitters have Bargain Ratings less than 76 percent. Deven Marrero leads the slate with a .417 ISO against left-handed pitchers. Although Mookie Betts has recorded a 54 percent recent ground ball rate and -77 Recent Batted Ball Luck, he’s typically crushed in Oriole Park at Camden Yards, averaging a +5.89 FanDuel Plus/Minus with a 62.5 percent Consistency Rating in 24 games (per our Trends tool).

Good luck, and be sure to read Bryan Mears’ MLB Breakdown!
