After some pretty major announcements about the future of the PGA TOUR on Tuesday, the last Signature Event of the season will take place this weekend at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Connecticut. The Travelers Championship has been a regular stop for the PGA TOUR in the week after the U.S. Open, and this year, the elite field will get a chance at the $20 million purse in the final Signature Event of the season.
Last year, Keegan Bradley won the Travelers for the second time in the last three years, sandwiched around a win by Scottie Scheffler. Scheffler is back this year and is the betting favorite in the limited field of 72 golfers that will tee it up in this no-cut event. Barring withdrawal or disqualification, all the players will get in four rounds this week. For more info on the field, the format, and the course, check out this First Look from RotoGrinders.
Especially in large-field tournaments, you’ll want to make sure to target players who have lower ownership projections than their potential performance suggests. Finding high-leverage plays is critical for tournament success, so the picks here go against the grain, looking for under-owned options.
Usually, I rely heavily on the Strokes Gained Model in FantasyLabs, which is very predictive of results. I also tend to lean toward players who excel in Strokes Gained: Approach, which is more sustainable week to week than a hot putter.
Since these are tournament picks, we can accept more risk in exchange for getting a higher ceiling. High-risk, high-reward options with low ownership create the “boom-or-bust” style lineups that often lead to large-field success. No matter what type of format you prefer, be sure to use the FantasyLabs PGA Models to help you make the best choices. These models use stats and simulations to highlight different players’ strengths and weaknesses. A few critical new stats for tournament play are Perfect% and SimLeverage, which are further explained here.
As you dig into the numbers, you can enjoy the many tools FantasyLabs offers, including the Lineup Optimizer, which effortlessly creates up to 300 lineups. Alternatively, you can use the Lineup Builder if you prefer a more hands-on approach.

High-Priced PGA DFS Picks
Scottie Scheffler $13,800
As has become the norm, Scottie Scheffler has the highest salary on the board this week by a wide margin. His salary did drop below $14,000, but no other player in the field is within $3,500 of his price tag. However, Scheffler is getting relatively little attention this week, and his lower ownership presents an excellent leverage opportunity.
Scottie has the highest median, ceiling, and floor projections this week, along with the highest Perfect%. Since he only has the 10th-highest ownership projection, he has the highest SimLeverage and Leverage in the entire field.
While he hasn’t won since his first tournament of 2026, he has still been turning in very strong and consistent results. He leads this elite field in SG:APP, Total Strokes Gained, and SG:T2G over the last three months. He’s been very good in every aspect of his game and just hasn’t quite been able to close on a victory.
He has finished in the top five in five of his last seven events and added a T4 at the U.S. Open last week. He has finished in the top 25 in all 13 of his PGA TOUR events this year, with eight top-10 finishes.
While it’s easy to see his outstanding all-around game as a great fit for any course, he has especially excelled at TPC River Highlands. He finished T13 in 2022, T4 in 2023, won the event in 2024, and finished T6 in his title defense last season. His big drives and strong strategy typically set him up well for wedges or short irons into the small greens, and if his putter cooperates, he has the potential to run away with a big win this week.
Even though it’s been a while since he won, his game is in great shape coming to a venue where he has a great track record, so Scheffler is a great pay-up source of leverage to consider if you can find the right values to stack around him in this no-cut format.

Ludvig Aberg $9,800
Ludvig Aberg has the third-highest median, ceiling, and floor projections in the field, and he has the second-highest Perfect% behind only Scottie’s. Aberg also matches the second-most Pro Trends in the field this week, and he has the third-highest SimLeverage in the field.
Like Scottie, Aberg has been a regular on the leaderboard all season, even though he hasn’t been able to get a big win. He was extremely close at THE PLAYERS Championship, where some badly timed waterballs sank him to a T5. That top-five finish was one of five top-five finishes in a seven-tournament span that included a T3 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and a T4 at the RBC Heritage, which were also Signature Events like this week’s tournament.
He made the cut in all three majors this season as well, posting a T17 last week at the U.S. Open to add to his T4 from the PGA Championship and his T21 at the Masters. At TPC River Highlands, Aberg has finished between 24th and 36th in his three appearances, never rising to the top or sinking all the way to the bottom.
Over the last three months, he ranks second in this strong field in Total Strokes Gained, sixth in SG:APP, and sixth in SG:T2G. He has the kind of well-balanced overall game that makes him a consistent threat each week, and that same skill set should play well at the Travelers this week.
Aberg brings a lot of upside with both a high floor and a high ceiling, and his ownership projection is very manageable this week. He can anchor your balanced lineup from just under $10,000 or be used with another big-name star in a stars-and-scrubs build for this week.
