Butterfield Bermuda Championship: Top PGA DFS Picks, Values, and Sleepers for Large-Field GPPs on DraftKings

The PGA TOUR is headed to Bermuda this weekend for the annual Butterfield Bermuda Championship, held at Port Royal Golf Course in Southampton. With just two tournaments left in the FedExCup Fall, players are racing to the wire to claim improved or continued PGA TOUR status for 2026. There should be plenty of drama this weekend; both at the top of the leaderboard and in the standings, everyone will be watching heading into next week’s finale at The RSM Classic.

While the event has taken place on this track for the last six years, even with the extended course history, there’s no ShotLink data, making it tricky to get an exact read on the venue. The course can also play very differently depending on which way and how hard the wind blows. It’s a resort-style layout, though, and usually yields low scores overall. For more info on the course, the field, and what to look for from a statistical perspective this week, check out this First Look from RotoGrinders.

Especially in large-field GPP tournaments, you’ll want to make sure to target players who have lower ownership projections than their potential performance.  Finding high-leverage plays is critical for GPP success, so the picks here go against the grain, looking for under-owned options.

All Strokes Gained metrics referenced are from the Rabbit Hole.

Usually, I rely heavily on the Strokes Gained Model in FantasyLabs, which is very predictive of results. I also tend to lean toward players who excel in Strokes Gained: Approach, which is more sustainable week-to-week than a hot putter.

Since these are GPP picks, we can accept more risk in exchange for getting a higher ceiling. High-risk, high-reward options with low ownership create the “boom-or-bust” style lineups that often lead to large-field success. No matter what type of format you prefer, be sure to use the FantasyLabs PGA Models to help you make the best choices. These models use stats and simulations to highlight different players’ strengths and weaknesses. A few critical new stats for GPP play are Perfect% and SimLeverage, which are further explained here.

As you dig into the numbers, you can enjoy the many tools FantasyLabs offers, including the Lineup Optimizer, which effortlessly creates up to 300 lineups. Alternatively, you can use the Lineup Builder if you prefer a more hands-on approach.

Kevin Yu $10,300

Of the options near the top of the salary structure, Yu has some of the best SimLeverage since his ownership projection is under 20% after he missed the cut last week in Mexico. He still has the second-highest Perfect% in the field and the second-shortest odds of finishing in the top 10, according to Vegas. His strong projections and low ownership give him the third-highest SimLeverage in the field.

Yu’s game is built on his accuracy, so last week’s driver-focused course didn’t really fit his style. He missed the cut after a pair of 71s, and he’ll look to regain his form from earlier this fall as he comes to Bermuda. Last year, he missed the cut at this venue, but he did finish in the top 30 in 2023 and put up a strong T3 in 2022.

Even with last week’s slip, Yu starts the week at No. 60 in the FedExCup Fall standings, and the players 51-60 on the list after next week’s tournament earn invites to the first two 2026 Signature Events – the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and The Genesis Invitational. He should be motivated for a strong finish in the next two weeks to lock up one of those spots.

Yu ranks in the top 20 in the field in Strokes Gained: Off-the-Tee, Total Strokes Gained, and Strokes Gained: Tee-to-Green over his last 30 rounds. Over the last two years, he has gained more strokes putting on Bermuda greens than any other surface, so if his flat stick cooperates, he should be ready for another big week as a strong leverage play.

Nico Echavarria $9,700

Echavarria has the second-highest SimLeverage in the field since his ownership projection is under 15%. He has the third-highest Perfect% behind only Ricy Hoey and Yu, but his ownership projection is outside the top 10.

The 31-year-old from Colombia is No. 62 in the FedExCup Fall standings and is also looking to surge into the top 60. He comes in with more recent form than Yu, after making four cuts in his last five PGA TOUR events and a solo ninth at the Baycurrent Classic, followed by a T14 last week in Mexico in his two most recent appearances. During Sunday’s final round, he led the field in both putts per GIR (1.38) and birdies (12) and finished with a scorching 63. He ranks third in the field in Total Strokes Gained over the last 30 rounds.

Echavarria has made the cut in all three appearances at this event with a pair of top-30 finishes. He claimed his first PGA TOUR career win at the Puerto Rico Open in 2023 and typically does well on resort-style courses in tropical environments.

He’s not a bargain play this week at almost $10,000, but he comes in with lots of momentum and not a lot of attention based on his ownership percentage, making him a good spot to pay up for leverage.
