After an amazing Masters last week at Augusta National, the PGA TOUR heads to the coast for a week at Hilton Head Island for the 2025 RBC Heritage. The Heritage has been played at Harbour Town Golf Links since 1969, and the famous Pete Dye design is one of the most iconic and well-known courses in the country. Because this week is also a Signature Event, we have another elite field lined up for what should be another outstanding event.
There is no cut this week, meaning you can really go crazy with your high-risk picks because, barring injury or disqualification, all golfers will get in four rounds. For more info on the field, the course, the weather, and some key stats, check out this First Look from RotoGrinders.
The focus of this post is strong GPP options that have lower ownership projections than their potential performance. Finding high-leverage plays is critical for GPP success, so the picks here go against the grain, looking for under-owned options.
All Strokes Gained metrics referenced are from the Rabbit Hole.
Usually, I rely heavily on the Stroked Gained Model in FantasyLabs, which is very predictive of results. I also tend to lean toward players who excel in Strokes Gained: Approach, which is more sustainable week-to-week than a hot putter.
Since these are GPP picks, we can accept more risk in exchange for getting a higher ceiling. High-risk, high-reward options with low ownership create the “boom-or-bust” style lineups that often lead to large-field success. No matter what type of format you prefer, be sure to use the FantasyLabs PGA Models to help you make the best choices. These models use stats and simulations to highlight different players’ strengths and weaknesses. A few critical new stats for GPP play are Perfect% and SimLeverage, which are further explained here.
As you dig into the numbers, you can enjoy the many tools FantasyLabs offers, including the Lineup Optimizer, which effortlessly creates up to 300 lineups. Alternatively, you can use the Lineup Builder if you prefer a more hands-on approach.

Ludvig Aberg $11,000
Six golfers in the field have salaries over, and two of them have some of the best SimLeverage in the field since they have excellent Perfect% but low ownership projections. The second-highest SimLeverage in the field this week comes from Aberg, who has the second-highest salary and second-highest Perfect% but only the 18th-highest ownership projection.
Aberg’s form has been inconsistent lately, and he’s priced over some very strong, consistent options like Xander Schauffele and Collin Morikawa, who should excel on this course that is primarily a second-shot course. I get why people may be hesitant to pay up for Aberg, but getting him at lower ownership makes him a great leverage option
Last week, Aberg was right in the mix at Augusta. In fact, he was in a three-way tie at the top for a hot minute on the back nine with Justin Rose and Rory McIlroy before a disaster on the last hole caused him to drop all the way to seventh place.
Before that, he missed the cut at THE PLAYERS and the Valero Texas Open. Before a lighter spring schedule, he did finish T22 at Bay Hill after winning the Genesis Invitational to close out the West Coast swing. Last year, he finished T10 in his RBC Heritage debut and that was with a +1 in the final round that saw him drop back into the pack.
Aberg won his first PGA TOUR event at Sea Island in 2023, and Harbour Town has many similarities to that layout just a couple of hours down the coast. He has proven he has the upside to win any week against any field when he’s in his top form, and if he’s at such low ownership, he’s a good source of pay-up leverage this week at the RBC Heritage.
Justin Thomas $10,200
Thomas has the third-highest SimLeverage in the field and the lowest ownership projection of all players over $8,500. Thomas has had a series of near misses this season, and while he still hasn’t won since the 2022 PGA Championship, he has been a great fantasy option with his consistently high finishes.
JT has exceeded salary-based expectations in six of his nine tournaments this season with four top-10 finishes and a pair of runner-up results. He finished runner-up at the Valspar Championship before taking a couple of weeks off before Augusta. Last week, he made the cut, but a +4 on Saturday put him out of contention for a high finish. He did remain sharp around the green, though, ranking eighth in the field in Strokes Gained: Around the Green.
Over his last 36 rounds, Thomas ranks No. 4 in this elite field in Total Strokes Gained and No. 9 in both Strokes Gained: Approach and Strokes Gained: Around-the-Green.
He also has a solid course history at Harbour Town, where he hasn’t missed a cut in six career appearances with three finishes in the top 11, including last season’s T5. While his lack of ability to close is clearly an issue, he’s been so close often enough to expect him to break through eventually, and even if he doesn’t he’s still a great source of leverage with the public so down on him this week.
