MLB Pro Model Stacks: Tuesday 8/1

This series uses the FantasyLabs Tools to analyze MLB stacks in the day’s slate. The series does not provide play or fade recommendations. It provides analysis.

Colorado Rockies

With the Lineup Builder, it’s easy to incorporate stacks into DFS rosters. The Rockies currently possess the highest-rated four-man stack on FanDuel in the Bales Model:

The Rockies return to Coors Field after spending their previous six games on the road and are implied to score a slate-high 6.7 runs (per our Vegas Dashboard). Trevor Story is tied for the lead among all hitters in the slate with a 99-mph exit velocity over the last 15 days. Per our Lineups Page, Story is projected to hit seventh and his place in the batting order could help drive down ownership of this specific four-man stack. Pro subscribers can review ownership trends across tournaments of various buy-in levels after lineup lock via our DFS Ownership DashboardNolan Arenado has a team-high eight Pro Trends with a .445 wOBA against left-handed pitching, while DJ LeMahieu carries a Bargain Rating of 82 percent. Mets lefty Steven Matz has struggled recently by allowing 21 runs and 34 hits in his previous four starts.

Baltimore Orioles

Building tournament stacks with a focus on Pro Trends is an effective strategy in large-field tournaments. When using the Bales Model on DraftKings, the Orioles are tied for the lead with 45 Pro Trends:

Despite Mark Trumbo (rib) being placed on the 10-day disabled list on Monday, the Orioles are still currently implied for a healthy 5.3 run total. All five players in this stack have exceptional recent batted ball statistics, and the team’s implied total has increase by a slate-high 0.4 runs since the line opened. Jonathon Schoop leads the team with a 52 percent Consistency Rating in the last month while accumulating a +5.05 Plus/Minus over the previous 10 games (per our Trends tool). Chris Davis, who is projected to hit cleanup, historically mashes righties with a team-high .284 ISO and is tied for the team lead with 10 Pro Trends.

New York Yankees

We have recently integrated FantasyDraft tools and data into our Models. One of the highest-rated six-man stacks in the CSURAM88 Model belongs to the Yankees:

Left-handed hitters Brett GardnerDidi Gregorius, and Chase Headley benefit from an 81 Park Factor Rating at Yankee Stadium. Headley has fantastic recent Statcast data with a 95-mph exit velocity and 50 percent hard hit rate in the last 15 days. His Recent Batted Ball Luck indicates that his fantasy production has been unlucky relative to his favorable batted ball statistics. Tigers right-hander Anibal Sanchez holds the worst HR/9 rate out of all starting pitchers in Tuesday’s slate. Aaron Judge has seen his fly ball percentage increase to 53 percent over the previous 15 days, and he leads all of baseball with 34 home runs this season. The Tigers also have the third-most overworked bullpen in the last three days with an 87 percentile Bullpen Rating.

Good luck, and be sure to read today’s MLB Breakdown!
