CS:GO DFS Projections for Saturday, May 2: All Eyes on Astralis

We’re back with another five-game slate on Saturday headlined by Astralis, who is listed as a -560 favorite over Heretics. Four of the world’s top 10 teams will be in action and finding value will be crucial in order to open up salary for the top players. Let’s get to it.

CS:GO DFS Notes for Saturday, May 2

DraftKings

  • I’m just going to copy and paste this bit from Thursday’s piece: “At $7,200, Xyp9x is under-priced for what feels like the fifth match in a row. His fantasy point per game average of 59.6 ranks 10th on the slate and I’m not sure what else he needs to do in order to be priced in the $8,000-$9,000 range.” Xyp9x is still only $7,800 on Saturday’s slate. You know what to do.
  • With that being said, all members of Astralis are likely to be very chalky, as three of the top four projections, and four of the top 10 come from the heavily favored Danes. Device’s slate-high 24.7% kill share powers his slate-best projection, but his 23.1% death share is also slate-best…in a bad way. In Astralis’ last match against NiP, device was underwater through the first two games with 36 kills against 38 deaths before he got things going on Inferno in the final frame. A contrarian play to consider would be to bypass device while loading up on magisk, Xyp9x, and dupreeh in Astralis stacks in hopes of another high death performance from device.
  • blameF sticks out as an under-priced option at $6,200. In Complexity’s three most recent matches, blameF was priced $7,600, $8,200, $9,600, so this represents a very solid value. Complexity is listed as a +135 dog to NiP, but blameF should be able to overcome neutral and slightly negative game scripts at this cheap price point.
  • If you’re fading Astralis, 100 Thieves could be a solid alternative stack. Despite being listed as the second-largest favorites on the board, no single member of 100 Thieves stick out due to the team’s balanced attack. But the good news is that has also kept their salaries down. If multi-entering, it makes sense to shuffle through different combinations of jks, Gratisfaction, AZR, and jkaem in lineup builds.

FanDuel

  • On FanDuel, Astralis members occupy the top four projection spots. With players like Brollan, ZywOo, Maka, and floppy priced above device and the rest of the gang, the only case you can really make against Astralis would be based on high ownership.
  • NiP looks to be in a good spot as -180 favorites with only one player priced above $10,500. Like 100 Thieves, this is another team featuring a balanced attack, making it difficult to single out individual plays. But based on the way the salaries work out, NiP fits together with Astralis in double-stacks nicely.
