CS:GO DFS Projections for Tuesday, May 5: Xyp9x Earns a Raise

After a one-day break, the Road to Rio returns to action on Tuesday’s slate with a four-gamer, headlined by Astralis, who is once again listed as a heavy favorite, though FaZe Clan is not far behind. With a top-heavy slate, being contrarian in a few spots will be important and there is one team in particular that stands out as an option. Let’s get into it.

CS:GO DFS Notes for Tuesday, May 5

DraftKings

  • I’ve been banging the drum for Xyp9x in recent days, noting that he had been under-priced on DraftKings since CS:GO was added to the menu. Well, Xyp9x is finally up to $8,200 on Tuesday’s slate, only $600 behind device, the most expensive member of Astralis. That gap between the two gamers was $1,600 the last time Astralis played, on Friday. Xyp9x still rates positively, but the closing of the price gap certainly makes for tougher decisions when selecting players from Astralis.
  • The same is true of FaZe Clan, where the gap between NiKo and broky has closed from $2,400 on Friday to $800 on Tuesday. NiKo leads FaZe in kill share by a significant margin and he now feels a little under-priced, despite still being listed as the most expensive player on the entire slate. Olofmeister has continued to string together uninspiring performances, but he is simply too cheap at $5,600 given that FaZe is currently listed as a -715 favorite. Coldzera led the way for FaZe on Friday, exterminating mousesports with his game-high 49 kills. He’s still a reasonable buy here at $7,600.
  • Outside of Astralis and FaZe, who occupy the top five spots on the projection table, Plopski of NiP checks in at fifth place with a projection of 60.96. His $6,800 salary looks out of place when sorting by projected points, as he is cheaper than every other player in the top-10 by at least $600. Plopski took a back seat to REZ in NiP’s most recent matchup with Complexity, scoring an even 53:53 kill:death ratio, but in the game before that, he tagged the world’s new No. 1 team, Astralis, for 67 kills against 54 deaths.

FanDuel

  • It’s more of the same on FanDuel, where Astralis and FaZe occupy the top four projections. Interestingly enough, it is Magisk who has the most expensive salary on Astralis on FanDuel at $12,000. Device’s $11,800 salary is unchanged from the team’s most recent match, Xyp9x is up $200, and dupreeh is down by the same margin.
  • NiP looks like a sneaky stack due to their pricing relative to the top-two. While Astralis and FaZe both account for $61,700 in total salary, NiP totals $57,300. Both Astralis and FaZe have more favorable odds to win their respective matchups, but NiP is no slouch at -210 against Heretics. Pairing the lower ownership together with the salary savings, NiP is an intriguing contrarian option on Tuesday’s slate.
