The PGA TOUR is back in action after a one-week break with the Butterfield Bermuda Championship. This tournament will be played at Port Royal Golf Course (par 71, 6,828 yards, Bermuda greens) in Southampton, Bermuda, which has only been track to host the Bermuda Championship since its debut in 2019. Adam Schenk (-12) is the defending champion of this event after winning by one shot a year ago. For this week, there will be 120 players competing, and the top 65 and ties will be cut after the first two rounds.
The PGA DFS Breakdown offers data-driven analysis for each week’s slate, using the FantasyLabs Tools and metrics to highlight notable golfers.
I’ll be highlighting the best cash game/single-entry plays on the DraftKings main slate, but these players are often great options in any contest.
My analysis will frequently reference Strokes Gained, a set of proprietary metrics generated by the PGA TOUR using millions of data points to calculate how many shots, on average, it takes a player to get the ball in the hole from every distance and situation.
Strokes Gained is now available in the FantasyLabs PGA Models.
There are a variety of Strokes Gained-related metrics, but the six main categories you need to know include:
- Strokes Gained: Off-the-Tee (SG: Off-the-Tee)
- Strokes Gained: Approach (SG: Approach)
- Strokes Gained: Around-the-Green (SG: Around-the-Green)
- Strokes Gained: Putting (SG: Putting)
- Strokes Gained: Ball-Striking (SG: Ball-Striking), which is SG: Off-the-Tee + SG: Approach
- Strokes Gained: Tee-to-Green (SG: Tee-to-Green), which is SG: Ball-Striking + SG: Around-the-Green
Don’t forget to check out two key metrics in our models — Perfect% and SimLeverage. You can find an explainer on those metrics here.
The Cliffs Notes version is that you can use SimLeverage to quickly find leverage plays in tournaments, while Perfect% is great for finding the best price-considered plays for cash games.
And don’t forget to utilize our various PGA DFS tools like our Lineup Optimizer, Lineup Builder, PGA Correlation Dashboard, and our Trends tool.
Also available: our PGA DFS SimLabs Lineup Generator that creates advanced DFS lineups using the power of simulation.
The following players listed are based on DraftKings scoring and pricing.
PGA DFS Cash Game Thoughts
DraftKings $10,000 Range
Benjamin James ($10,900)
James is the only player priced above $10,000 this week, and getting him in your cash-game lineup is a smart move. The 23-year-old has been on the brink of his first PGA TOUR win, finishing inside the top five in four of his last six starts. James finished runner-up at the Biltmore Championship in Asheville last month and finished T4 at the Corales Puntacana Championship in July, which bodes well for his chances this week as he heads to another island course in Port Royal. James has shot 68 or lower in 14 of his last 16 rounds, including two rounds of 61.
James is gaining 2.3 strokes per round over his last 24 rounds, which ranks first in this field by a mile. Ranking second is Ben Kohles with 1.6. James also easily leads this field in strokes gained per round at fall events. The blossoming star is the clear favorite, and he should contend in his debut at Port Royal.
DraftKings $9,000 Range
Chris Kirk ($9,500)
Kirk has made six straight cuts, and he has finished inside the top 20 in three of his last four starts. Kirk has been dialed in with his irons, ranking second in SG: Approach when we compare this field’s last 24 rounds. While this will be his debut at Port Royal, this par 71 was designed by Robert Trent Jones, which is a great sign for Kirk. The six-time PGA TOUR winner ranks third in this field in strokes gained per round at Jones’ courses. Sitting 116th in the FedEx Cup Fall standings, Kirk needs to have some strong showings this fall, as only the top 100 earn their PGA TOUR cards for next season. The veteran should rise to the occasion this week.
Andrew Novak ($9,400)
Novak has made 3-of-4 cuts at Port Royal, notably with a runner-up finish in 2024 in his last visit to the track. Novak shot a 9-under 62 in the third round that week, which is one off of his career low. Novak ranks second in this field in strokes gained per round at island courses, and he is coming off two strong performances, finishing T7 at the Wyndham Championship and T17 at the Biltmore Championship Asheville. Novak gained strokes on approach and with his putter in both these starts, and he is an excellent target with his game trending up.

DraftKings $8,000 Range
Rico Hoey ($8,900)
Hoey has finished T17 and T22 in his two starts at Port Royal, and he travels back to Bermuda in great form. Hoey has made six straight cuts with three top-25 finishes in his last four starts. Hoey most recently finished T10 at the Bank of Utah Championship three weeks ago, and he gained strokes on approach and with his putter during this showing. Hoey ranks 10th in SG: Tee-to-Green when we compare this field’s last 24 rounds, and he is simply too cheap at this salary.
Trace Crowe ($8,600)
Crowe has improved in each of his last three starts, finishing T38, T24, and T3. That last performance was at the Bank of Utah Championship three weeks ago, and Crowe led the field in SG: Approach. Crowe has gained strokes on approach in five of his last six starts, and he has shot under par in nine consecutive rounds. Crowe now heads to Port Royal, where he finished a solid T37 in his first attempt at the course two years ago. Crowe is a far more polished player nowadays, and he should finish much higher in his second start at Port Royal.

DraftKings $7,000 Range
Austin Eckroat ($7,900)
Eckroat has only missed one cut in his last 14 starts, and he is on the heels of a T24 finish at the Biltmore Championship Asheville, in which he ranked fifth in SG: Approach. Eckroat’s 5.91 strokes gained on approach set a season high, and if he can in any way recreate this ball-striking performance, he should finish high at Port Royal. Eckroat has finished T22 and MC in his two starts at the par 71.
Chandler Phillips ($7,600)
Phillips nearly secured his first PGA TOUR win at Port Royal last season, finishing runner-up by one shot. The 29-year-old shot a 7-under 64 in the second round, and he heads back to Port Royal this week in solid form. Phillips has made seven of his last 10 cuts with five top-15 finishes during this span, with his best being a T3 at the 3M Open in July. Phillips ranks 11th in SG: Tee-to-Green when we analyze this field’s last 24 rounds, and he brings great upside relative to his affordable price tag.
Justin Lower ($7,500)
Lower has been terrific at Port Royal, posting a top-20 finish in 4-of-5 starts at the par 71. The veteran finished T5 at Port Royal two years ago, and he ranks 11th in this field in strokes gained per round at this venue. Lower now returns to Port Royal, having made six of his last seven cuts, most recently with a T20 finish at the Bank of Utah Championship earlier this month. Lower ranked third in SG: Putting that week, and he has gained strokes with his flat stick in five of his last seven starts. Having a hot putter is essential to winning at Port Royal, where four of the last five victors have finished the event in the top 10 in PPR. Lower should roll himself into another strong finish at this seaside track.
DraftKings $6,000 Range
Mark Hubbard ($6,900)
Hubbard has made eight of his last 12 cuts with three top-35 finishes during this run, including a runner-up at the Myrtle Beach Classic in May, played at another Jones design, Dunes Golf Beach Club. Hubbard clearly has a knack for Jones’ creations, as he has also excelled at Port Royal throughout his career. Hubbard has made 4-of-6 cuts at this track, including three top-25 finishes, most notably a T3 two years ago. Hubbard has shot as low as an 8-under 63 at Port Royal. This is the cheapest he has ever been on DraftKings for a Bermuda Championship by a significant $1,000.
David Skinns ($6,900)
Skinns has never missed a cut in three tries at Port Royal, and he has advanced through the cut in five of his last eight starts. Skinns has finished inside the top 35 four times during this stretch, and he has gained strokes on approach and with his putter in two of his last three starts. Skinns should make the cut in his return to Port Royal, and he is one of the best sub-$7,000 options on the board.
