PGA DFS: Top Cash Game Picks for the Genesis Scottish Open

Before we head to Royal Birkdale for the Open Championship next week, the PGA TOUR and the DP World Tour are cohosting the Genesis Scottish Open at the Renaissance Club (par 70, 7,282 yards, fescue greens) in North Berwick, Scotland. At this event a year ago, Chris Gotterup (-15) won by two strokes. There will be 156 golfers competing this week, along with a top-65 and ties cut after the first two rounds.

The PGA DFS Breakdown offers data-driven analysis for each week’s slate, using the FantasyLabs Tools and metrics to highlight notable golfers.

I’ll be highlighting the best cash game/single-entry plays on the DraftKings main slate, but these players are often great options in any contest.

My analysis will frequently reference Strokes Gained, a set of proprietary metrics generated by the PGA TOUR using millions of data points to calculate how many shots, on average, it takes a player to get the ball in the hole from every distance and situation.

Strokes Gained is now available in the FantasyLabs PGA Models.

There are a variety of Strokes Gained-related metrics, but the six main categories you need to know include:

  • Strokes Gained: Off-the-Tee (SG: Off-the-Tee)
  • Strokes Gained: Approach (SG: Approach)
  • Strokes Gained: Around-the-Green (SG: Around-the-Green)
  • Strokes Gained: Putting (SG: Putting)
  • Strokes Gained: Ball-Striking (SG: Ball-Striking), which is SG: Off-the-Tee + SG: Approach
  • Strokes Gained: Tee-to-Green (SG: Tee-to-Green), which is SG: Ball-Striking + SG: Around-the-Green

Don’t forget to check out two key metrics in our models — Perfect% and SimLeverage. You can find an explainer on those metrics here.

The Cliffs Notes version is that you can use SimLeverage to quickly find leverage plays in tournaments, while Perfect% is great for finding the best price-considered plays for cash games.

And don’t forget to utilize our various PGA DFS tools like our Lineup OptimizerLineup Builder, PGA Correlation Dashboard, and our Trends tool.

PGA DFS Cash Game Thoughts

DraftKings $9,000 Range

Matt Fitzpatrick ($9,900)

Instead of building around one of the three players priced above $10,000 this week, I prefer more balanced lineups that begin with a few players from the stacked $9,000 range, and Matt Fitzpatrick stands out at $9,900. The Englishman has been close to winning at the Renaissance Club many times. Fitzpatrick finished runner-up in 2021, T6 in 2022, and T4 last season. The 31-year-old shot a 7-under 63 at the Renaissance Club a year ago, and he has only missed one cut in 7 starts at this par 70. Fitzpatrick is in the midst of his best season on the PGA TOUR, winning 3 times, which is tied with Gotterup for the most victories this season. Fitzpatrick hasn’t missed a cut in 16 starts, and he has finished inside the top 10 seven times, most recently with a 4th-place finish at the Travelers Championship. Fitzpatrick opened and closed this Signature Event with 6-under 64s at TPC River Highlands, and he should build off this with another high finish at the Renaissance Club.

Tommy Fleetwood ($9,400)

Fleetwood is another Englishman who is very fond of the Renaissance Club. Fleetwood has never missed a cut in 6 starts at this venue, including a runner-up in 2020, a T4 in 2022, and a T6 in 2023. Fleetwood has shot as low as a 7-under 63 at the Renaissance Club, and he ranks 5th in this field in Strokes Gained per round at courses in Europe. Fleetwood has finished inside the top 15 in 5 of his last 6 starts, and he ranks 4th in SG: Total when we compare this field’s last 24 rounds. Fleetwood was priced over $10,000 for two of his last three starts, and he is an elite value at only $9,400.

Wyndham Clark ($9,200)

Clark is a tough fade at this price. He has been on an incredible run, finishing 1st, 3rd, T11, 1st, and T5 in his last 5 starts, with those wins coming at THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson and U.S. Open. Clark ranks 1st in SG: Total when we compare this field’s last 24 rounds, even ahead of the world No. 1, Scottie Scheffler. At the Renaissance Club, Clark has finished T16, T25, T10, and T11 in 4 starts, including a final-round 8-under 62 two years ago. The 32-year-old ranks 11th in Strokes Gained per round at the Renaissance Club, and a career-best showing at the par 70 is absolutely on the table for Clark this week.

DraftKings $8,000 Range

Tyrrell Hatton ($8,900)

After winning the LIV Golf Andalucia event, Hatton kept his foot on the gas at the U.S. Open, finishing T7 at Shinnecock Hills. The Englishman carded a 3-under 67 in the final round of the major, and he has finished inside the top 10 in 6 of 10 starts in 2026. Heading back to the Renaissance Club in this awesome form, Hatton is a terrific target at this sub-$9,000 salary. Hatton has finished T14, T18, T24, and T6 in four starts at this course. The 34-year-old has an 8-under 62 on his resume at the Renaissance Club, and he ranks 9th in this field in Strokes Gained per round at the track.

Nicolai Hojgaard ($8,000)

Hojgaard has finished inside the top 6 in two of his last three starts at the Renaissance Club, and the Dane looks ready to make some more noise at the par 70 this week. Hojgaard is on the heels of a T14 finish at the Travelers Championship, and he went nuts in the final round at TPC River Highlands, posting an 8-under 62. This matched his career low, and this performance marked Hojgaard’s 8th top-25 finish in 16 starts this season.

DraftKings $7,000 Range

Aaron Rai ($7,800)

While Rai has missed three cuts in seven starts at the Renaissance Club, he has displayed huge upside at this venue, winning here in 2020 and finishing T4 in 2024. Rai now returns to the Renaissance Club playing the best golf of his career. The Englishman has made 11 of 14 cuts with six top-25 finishes this season, most notably with a three-shot win at the PGA Championship in May. Rai also finished T11 at the U.S. Open last month, and he ranks 5th in SG: Total when we compare this field’s last 24 rounds.

Tom Kim ($7,600)

Kim is riding a six-made-cut streak, and he has supplied three top-15 finishes during this time, with his solo third-place finish at the U.S. Open last month being the highlight of his season. Kim ranks in the top 25 in SG: Approach and par 4 performance this season, and in addition to his strong form, Kim’s record at the Renaissance Club is outstanding. The three-time PGA TOUR winner has finished 3rd, T6, T15, and T17 in four starts at the par 70, and he ranks 3rd in this field in Strokes Gained per round at the Renaissance Club.

Corey Conners ($7,400)

Conners has made four straight cuts at the Renaissance Club – including a pair of top-20 finishes – and the Canadian has been great his last two times out, finishing T23 at the U.S. Open and T7 at the Travelers Championship. Conners closed out that Signature Event with a season-low 7-under 63 at TPC River Highlands, and for the season, he has made 14 of 16 cuts and ranks top 30 in both Total Driving and SG: Approach. Looking to carry the momentum over from the Travelers, Conners could definitely card his 3rd top-20 finish at the Renaissance Club.

Brian Harman ($7,300)

Harman is a former Open Championship winner who knows how to get around links courses like the Renaissance Club very well. The veteran has made 3 of 4 cuts with two top-25 finishes at this venue, and he has only failed to make the cut once in his last 14 starts entering this week. Harman most recently finished T25 at the Travelers Championship, and he had his best ball-striking performance of the season, ranking 4th among the world-class field at TPC River Highlands in SG: Approach, which bodes well for his return to the Renaissance Club. At this track, each of the last 4 winners has finished the event top-8 in SG: Approach.

DraftKings $6,000 Range

Jesper Svensson ($6,800)

Svensson’s game has come alive recently, finishing T9 at THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson and T4 at the RBC Canadian Open in his last two starts. The Swede has shot a 68 or lower in all but one of these past 8 rounds, and he gained strokes across the board at the RBC Canadian Open. Svensson now heads to the Renaissance Club, where he has been rock-solid in the past. The 30-year-old has finished T34 and T43 in two starts at the par 70 while shooting under par in 6 of 8 rounds.
