For the final event of the 2025 PGA TOUR season, we head to the Sea Island Resort in St. Simons Island, Georgia, for The RSM Classic, which has been the home of this event since 2010. The RSM Classic will be played at the Seaside Course (par 70, 7,005 yards, Bermuda greens) and the Plantation Course (par 72, 7,060 yards, Bermuda greens) of the Sea Island Resort. Each player of this 156-man field will play a round on each course, then there will be a top-65-and-ties cut, and those players who advance will return to the Seaside Course for their final two rounds. Maverick McNealy (-16) won last year’s RSM Classic by one shot, and only the top-100 players in the FedEx Cup Fall standings following The RSM Classic will earn full-time status for the 2026 PGA TOUR season.
The PGA DFS Breakdown offers data-driven analysis for each week’s slate, using the FantasyLabs Tools and metrics to highlight notable golfers.
I’ll be highlighting the best cash game/single-entry plays on the DraftKings main slate, but these players are often great options in any contest.
My analysis will frequently reference Strokes Gained, a set of proprietary metrics generated by the PGA TOUR using millions of data points to calculate how many shots, on average, it takes a player to get the ball in the hole from every distance and situation.
Strokes Gained is now available in the FantasyLabs PGA Models.
There are a variety of Strokes Gained-related metrics, but the six main categories you need to know include:
- Strokes Gained: Off-the-Tee (SG: Off-the-Tee)
- Strokes Gained: Approach (SG: Approach)
- Strokes Gained: Around-the-Green (SG: Around-the-Green)
- Strokes Gained: Putting (SG: Putting)
- Strokes Gained: Ball-Striking (SG: Ball-Striking), which is SG: Off-the-Tee + SG: Approach
- Strokes Gained: Tee-to-Green (SG: Tee-to-Green), which is SG: Ball-Striking + SG: Around-the-Green
Don’t forget to check out two key metrics in our models — Perfect% and SimLeverage. You can find an explainer on those metrics here.
The Cliffs Notes version is that you can use SimLeverage to quickly find leverage plays in tournaments, while Perfect% is great for finding the best price-considered plays for cash games.
And don’t forget to utilize our various PGA DFS tools like our Lineup Optimizer, Lineup Builder, PGA Correlation Dashboard, and our Trends tool.

DraftKings $9,000 Range
Rico Hoey ($9,800)
With this being a very wide-open field, foregoing the $10,000 range and focusing on the $9,000 range is the right move when it comes to starting pieces for cash-game lineups this week. Hoey has never competed at The RSM Classic before, but he is playing the best golf of his career right now and is an awesome spend this week. He has made 10 of his last 11 cuts with six top-25 finishes, including a runner-up at the Bank of the Utah Championship last month. Hoey ranks first in Strokes Gained per round when we compare this field’s last 24 rounds, and he ranks fourth in Strokes Gained per round when we analyze this field’s results at fall events. Hoey also ranks 21st in par-4 performance, which bodes well for the Seaside Course this week. This venue is a traditional par 70 with 12 par 4s, and four of the last five RSM Classic winners have finished the tournament top five in par-4 efficiency.
Denny McCarthy ($9,200)
McCarthy has made six of eight cuts with three top-10 finishes at The RSM Classic, and the veteran has remained one of the best putters on the PGA TOUR this season, ranking sixth in SG: Putting. This is a terrific sign for The RSM Classic, as four of the past victors of this event have finished the week top-six in SG: Putting. McCarthy has been very reliable this season, making 20 of 22 cuts with 10 top-25 finishes, and he is underpriced for his upside in this weaker field.

DraftKings $8,000 Range
Chris Kirk ($8,900)
Kirk hasn’t competed this fall, but he was on fire to close out the summer, finishing T-14th, T-5th, and T-9th in his final three starts from July to August. Kirk gained strokes across the board at all three of these events, and he shot under par in all but one of these 12 rounds. Kirk is a six-time PGA TOUR winner who looks ready to win again soon, and he should contend in his return to the Sea Island Resort this week. Kirk won here in 2013, and he has produced six top-20 finishes in 15 starts at The RSM Classic.
Vince Whaley ($8,700)
Whaley checks every box this week and is a stellar target. The Georgia Tech product has been excellent at the Georgia-based RSM Classic, finishing T-13th and T-8th at the last two editions of this event, and he was in the mix for a win at last week’s Butterfield Bermuda Championship, finishing T-3rd. Whaley has now advanced to the weekend in his past 17 solo starts, and he has finished inside the top 25 at eight of these events. Whaley has shot under par in 13 consecutive rounds, and he ranks ninth in Strokes Gained per round when we compare this field’s last 24 rounds.
Nico Echavarria ($8,100)
Echavarria finished runner-up to McNealy by one stroke at last year’s RSM Classic, and the Colombian has been great over the last few months, making seven of his last 10 cuts with five top-25 finishes. Echavarria has won twice on the PGA TOUR since 2023, and his flat stick has been outstanding this season, ranking seventh in SG: Putting. Echavarria was priced all the way up to $9,700 for last week’s Butterfield Bermuda Championship, and getting him at $8,100 is highway robbery.

DraftKings $7,000 Range
Sahith Theegala ($7,800)
Theegala nearly won in his last start at an RSM Classic, finishing runner-up at this event in 2022, including a seven-under 63 at the Seaside Course in the second round. Theegala went through a rut in the summer, but he has made four straight cuts this fall, and two of these finishes have been top-30 results. Theegala has gained strokes on approach at each of these past four tournaments, and this $7,800 salary is just too low for the former top-12 ranked player in the world in this weaker field.
Seamus Power ($7,600)
Before withdrawing from last year’s RSM Classic after the first round, Power had recorded back-to-back top-five finishes at this event. The Irishman now heads back to Sea Island Golf Club on the heels of a T-11 finish at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship, marking his seventh made cut in a row. Power has gained strokes on approach at four straight events, and he is a terrific bargain at this low price tag.
Mac Meissner ($7,500)
Meissner is playing outstanding golf right now, and he should produce a high finish in his RSM Classic debut this week. Meissner has made six straight cuts, and five of these finishes have been top-30 results, most notably with a runner-up finish at the Wyndham Championship in August. Meissner has shot under par in 20 of his last 24 rounds, and he ranks second in Strokes Gained per round when we compare this field’s last 24 rounds.
Doug Ghim ($7,400)
Ghim carded a tournament-low eight-under 63 during the second round of last week’s Butterfield Bermuda Championship, en route to a T-13 finish. Ghim has now made eight of his last 10 cuts—including six finishes of T-31st or better—and he ranks top-20 in both SG: Approach and SG: Tee-to-Green this season. To put the icing on the cake, the elite ball striker has made four of five cuts at The RSM Classic.
DraftKings $6,000 and Below Range
Thomas Rosenmueller ($6,900)
Rosenmueller just finished T29 at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship last week, which is his ninth made cut and sixth top-30 finish in his last 11 starts. Rosenmueller ranks top-35 in both SG: Off-the-Tee and SG: Approach this season, and the exceptional ball striker should have a strong RSM Classic debut this week.
Patton Kizzire ($6,500)
Kizzire has finished inside the top 35 at back-to-back events this fall, and he has been reliable at The RSM Classic throughout his career, making eight of 11 cuts. Two of these finishes have been top-15 results, and Kizzire is a viable punt play that should be able to at least make the cut this week.
