NBA DFS Point Guard Picks

Stud

This large 11-game slate is flooded with pay-up options, but Luka Doncic has been one of the most consistent studs to target. Since the All-Star Break, Doncic is averaging a triple-double: 33.1 points, 10.4 assists, and 10 rebounds per game. He has led the Mavericks to a 16-7 record during that time and climbed up to the fifth seed in the Western Conference. Doncic may be the most expensive player on the slate, but he also has the second-highest projected ceiling in our Player model.

The Mavericks are 12.5-point road favorites against the Hornets, who continue to be one of the best matchups for opposing players. The Hornets rank 29th in defensive rating, while opponents are shooting 49.3% from the field against them. Doncic, who is averaging a career-high in points, rebounds, and assists per game, is in a great spot for another ceiling performance.

Value

The Spurs are once again a great team to target from a value perspective. Point guard Tre Jones had a triple-double against the Nuggets last Tuesday night and is coming off a near triple-double in his last game with 17 points, nine assists, and eight rebounds. With Keldon Johnson, Devin Vassell, and Cedi Osman out, the Spurs are desperate for production. With those three players off the floor Jones is averaging a team-high +5.55% usage rate and a +8.16 DraftKings Plus/Minus.

Jones has recorded a positive Plus/Minus in three of his last four games and has the highest projected Plus/Minus at the point guard position tonight. Right behind him is his teammate Devonte’ Graham who also is a strong value option. Graham is much cheaper than Jones but more scoring dependent. Both look like great plays in this road game against the Grizzlies.

Fast Break

Jalen Brunson has recorded over 60 DraftKings points in three-straight games. The Knicks are in the thick of the Eastern Conference seeding race, and Brunson is playing at an elite level. Over his last three games, Brunson is averaging a 37.7-point, 10-assist double-double while posting a 40.6% usage rate. Everything is running through the former Villanova point guard, and he looks like an incredible pay-up option again tonight. The Knicks are five-point road favorites against the Bulls.

NBA DFS Shooting Guard Picks

Stud

With four games left in the regular season, the Timberwolves hold the number one seed in the Western Conference by a tiebreaker over the Nuggets. Those two teams will meet tomorrow night, but first the Timberwolves need to take care of business at home against the Wizards tonight. They are a slate-high 16.5-point home favorite, implied for 120.75 points.

Karl-Anthony Towns will be back soon, but for now, the Timberwolves are still relying on Anthony Edwards for most of their offensive production. With Towns off the floor this season, Edwards has a team-high +2.38 DraftKings Plus/Minus and a +2.02% usage rate. Edwards has struggled to get above his salary-based expectations recently but still has the highest projected ceiling at this position. Playing against the Wizards who rank first in pace and 28th in defensive rating also helps.

Value

Malaki Branham is another Spurs backcourt value play that looks fantastic on this 11-game slate. Over his last six games, Branham has seen increased playing time and has shown his upside, especially at a cheap price tag. During that stretch, he is averaging 16.5 points per game while shooting 52.1% from the field and 50% from behind the arc. Branham has recorded a positive Plus/Minus in four of those six games. The sharpshooting guard has made twelve 3-pointers in his last three games.

This matchup against the Grizzlies suits Branham very well. They are allowing opponents to shoot 38% from downtown, which is the fourth-highest in the league. With most of their defensive stoppers out for this game, Branham should have no trouble getting wide open looks tonight. Priced at only $4,400, Branham is a strong option in all lineup builds for this slate.

Fast Break

Kyrie Irving isn’t as consistent as teammate Luka Doncic, but has displayed an extremely high ceiling in the right game environment. Irving is coming off a 48-point against the Rockets in which he shot 15-for-25 from the field and added seven rebounds. The efficient Irving is averaging over 25 points per game while shooting 49.6% from the field and 40.1% from behind the arc this season. He is much cheaper than Doncic and is a great way to get exposure to the Mavericks tonight.

NBA DFS Small Forward Picks

Stud

Jayson Tatum sat out Sunday’s game against the Trail Blazers but does not have an injury designation for tonight’s game. The Celtics instead will likely sit Kristaps Porzingis and Al Horford, who are both listed as questionable to play. With Porzingis and Horford off the floor this season, Tatum has a +6.46% usage rate and a +4.73 DraftKings Plus/Minus. Leading the Celtics in points and rebounds, Tatum will flirt with another double-double with his two big teammates likely out.

Playing against the Bucks is a great test before the playoffs begin. In his last meeting against the Bucks, Tatum dominated. He stuffed the stat sheet with 31 points, eight rebounds, four assists, three steals, and two blocks for 58 DraftKings points. Tatum is reasonably priced at $9,700 but is only drawing around 5% ownership. He is a contrarian pay-up option tonight.

Value

Back to the Spurs value with small forward Julian Champagnie, who has the second-highest projected Plus/Minus on the slate. The versatile forward has recorded a positive Plus/Minus in six consecutive games. During that time, Champagnie is averaging 13.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 28.5 DraftKings points per game. He has posted over 36 DraftKings points in back-to-back games while shooting 11-for-21 from the field. Projected to play 36 minutes, Champagnie is an elite value play.

With shooting guard and small forward eligibility, Champagnie is easy to fit into all formats. His $4,600 salary is also resulting in a 90% Bargain Rating. Despite having the worst record in the Western Conference, the Spurs are 3.5-point road favorites against the Grizzlies. Playing so many minutes in this cupcake matchup, Champagnie will easily exceed his salary.

Fast Break

The Pacers are clinging on to the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference and will have a great opportunity to try to climb the standings in a matchup against the Raptors tonight. This is a revenge spot for Pascal Siakam, who has been the Pacers’ leading scorer since joining the team, shooting an efficient 54.6% from the field. The Pacers have the highest implied total on the slate at 125 points. Priced at $8,000, Siakam is the perfect mix of value and ceiling in this matchup against his former team.

NBA DFS Power Forward Picks

Stud

The Bucks will reportedly monitor Giannis Antetokounmpo‘s workload over the last week of the regular season, but at the same time, they have lost four-straight games to inferior opponents and only hold a one-game lead for the second seed in the Eastern Conference. Giannis played 38 minutes last game and finished with 28 points, 15 rebounds, and eight assists. The Greek Freak continues to post ceiling performances and has a positive Plus/Minus in six of his last seven contests.

Giannis is questionable to play tonight, so make sure to monitor his status the closer we get to lock. However, he has by far the highest projected ceiling at the power forward position with 10 Pro Trends. The Bucks are slight home underdogs to the Celtics, but this game matters more to them. If Giannis is unable to play, Damian Lillard is the immediate beneficiary.

Value

Since joining the Hornets at the trade deadline, Grant Williams has been a valuable asset. In his 27 games played and eight starts, Williams is averaging a career-high 13.9 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game. He is also shooting 50% from the field and playing over 30 minutes per game for the first time in his career. Williams has played 38 minutes in back-to-back games and has posted a positive Plus/Minus in eight straight games. He remains simply too cheap tonight.

Projected to play around 35 minutes tonight, Williams will get a chance at revenge against the Mavericks who traded him at the deadline after being fed up with him this year. Given how well Williams has played recently paired with power forward and center eligibility, he is one of the best non-Spurs value players on the slate. Expect another strong game from Williams.

Fast Break

The potential Sixth Man of the Year Naz Reid has filled in for the injured Karl-Anthony Towns perfectly. He is coming off a 31-point, 11-rebound double-double against the Lakers. At his mid-range salary of $7,300, Reid will dominate the weak Wizards frontcourt tonight. They are last in the league in rebounding percentage at 45.9% and have allowed the second-most points in the paint this season at 58.4 per game. Reid will likely have another ceiling performance in this matchup.

NBA DFS Center Picks

Stud

The center position is absolutely loaded on this 11-game slate, but no one can touch the projected ceiling of NBA MVP favorite Nikola Jokic. He has the highest ceiling in our Player model by a comfortable margin. Jokic has recorded a triple-double in three of his last four games and is averaging 30.8 points, 16.3 rebounds, and 10.8 assists per game during that time. Even if Jokic doesn’t play his full allotment of minutes in this projected blowout, he can still finish with a ceiling game.

The Nuggets are 14.5-point road favorites against the Hornets, implied for 120.5 points. Jokic will have no problem feasting on the Jazz backcourt, who are without Walker Kessler, John Collins, and Lauri Markkanen. They rank last in defensive rating this season and 22nd in points allowed in the paint. Jokic is shooting 82.1% from the field in their three meetings.

Value

Our final Spurs value play is Sandro Mamukelashvili, who leads the entire slate with the highest projected Plus/Minus. He has played at least 24 minutes in four-straight games and is averaging nearly a double-double during that time, with 10.3 points and eight rebounds per game. Projected to play 30 minutes tonight, Mamukelashvili is one of the best value plays on the slate. The third-year pro from Seton Hall will have no trouble flirting with another double-double in this cupcake matchup.

The Grizzlies have fallen to 25th in rebounding percentage this season at 48.8% and have been dominating in the paint without Jaren Jackson Jr. and company. Even if Mamukelashvili continues to come off the bench, he can still provide value. However, with Keldon Johnson out, there is a great chance that he draws his second start of the season tonight.

Fast Break

When filtering through all of the Spurs value options, do not forget about the ultimate Spurs player Victor Wembanyama. He is coming off another stellar performance against the 76ers, putting up 33 points, 18 rebounds, seven blocks, and six assists. The Spurs have let Wembanyama go from a minutes perspective, which has boosted his ceiling significantly. Even at $11,000, Wembanyama has a 90% Bargain Rating. His upside is high, especially in this matchup against the Grizzlies.
