NBA Trend of the Day: Players in Games With a Total of 120 or Higher

We truly believe here at Fantasy Labs that we have the most unique tools and data available to DFS users. However, we also realize that those tools and data are only as awesome and helpful as our ability to effectively communicate how to use everything. As such, we will continually listen to feedback of what you need and try our best to teach our subscribers how to use all of the cool things we have to offer.

I thought one good idea, since we get a lot of questions about this part of the site, is to create a “Trend of the Day” post every weekday. In it, we will find an important trend for that day’s slate – we’ll start with NBA and then move to MLB soon – and show you exactly how to build it in the Trends section. You’ll also be able to see the current results of that trend and how it applies to that very day’s DFS slate.

To start, let’s look at a trend for day – specifically, how players perform in games with the over/under 122 or higher.

Step 1: Projections > Proj Minutes > Set “20 to 46.3”

trendday1

Step 2: Vegas Filters > Total > Set “222 to 225”

trendday2

At this point, we could stop here and just look at all players who are projected for 20-plus minutes in this high of a total. And you would find a lot of value if you did that…

trendday3

However, I think it would be particular interesting to see how the top guys perform, especially since the matchup with this high total today (OKC-Washington) are very top-heavy teams with Russell Westbrook, Kevin Durant, and John Wall. So, let’s restrict it a bit further and see how players perform when they meet these criteria and are $9,000-plus on DraftKings.

Step 3: Player Filters > Salary > Set “9000 to 12000”

trendday4

Now let’s see the final Plus/Minus of this…

trendday5

Woahhhh. That Plus/Minus is ridiculous.

And finally, here are the current matches for tonight’s NBA slate…

trendday6

Well there you have it. I hope this layout makes sense and that you will find these Daily Trends useful. Please shoot any feedback you may have – again, the point here is for you to learn the awesome intricacies of the site and how to use our tools to profit on a nightly basis.
