Best Prediction Markets for Crypto Trading

Crypto prediction markets let you trade price moves and outcomes tied to Bitcoin, Ethereum and other digital assets, without having to buy the coins themselves. Take a position on whether Bitcoin (BTC) finishes above a certain price, whether Ethereum moves higher over the next 15 minutes, or whether a crypto policy event happens by a deadline.

Where the prediction markets really start to differ is in coin coverage and timeframe. Some contracts stay open for weeks or months, others wrap up in an hour, 15 minutes or even five.

For US traders, the main platforms we’re looking at are Polymarket US, Kalshi, FanDuel Predicts, Crypto.com Predict and OG.com. They all cover crypto, but the menus can look very different once you get past Bitcoin.

Prediction market trading involves significant risk, including the possibility of losing the full amount committed to a position. Nothing on this page is investment advice.

  • Polymarket US — best for new prediction market users. Has Bitcoin thresholds, 15-minute BTC Up/Down markets and crypto-policy contracts in an easy, beginner-friendly interface. No altcoins, so more experienced traders could outgrow it.
  • Kalshi — best for coin variety and timeframe range, from 15-minute up to long-dated contracts across BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP, DOGE and more. Better suited to traders comfortable with more choice and faster-moving markets.
  • FanDuel Predicts — best for beginners who want a small, easy-to-scan menu, with crypto kept inside a simpler financial-markets catalog.
  • Crypto.com Predict — best for a simple flat fee and trading crypto contracts inside an app you may already use.
  • OG.com — best for altcoin variety and the widest range of timeframes, from 5-minute markets up to daily and weekly contracts.

How We Chose These Prediction Market Platforms

Crypto coverage came first. A platform can have hundreds of sports, politics and other real-world events on the board and still give crypto traders only a couple of Bitcoin contracts.

We looked at the current market menus, public rules, fee information, funding options, and regulatory filings. Coin selection and contract length were a big part of the comparison, along with market depth, trading volume, trading fees, settlement rules and how easy it is to actually find and manage a position.

Liquidity also played a part for us because the number on the screen doesn’t tell you how much is available at that price. If the order book is thin, you may struggle to fill the position you want or get out later without accepting a worse price. That’s even more prevalent in niche markets.

Welcome offers and promo codes didn’t decide the order. A sign-up bonus gives new users something extra at the start, but the market selection and trading setup are what you’re still using long after that bonus is gone.

Polymarket US: Bitcoin and Crypto Policy Markets

polymarket US app showing crypto markets

We’re talking about Polymarket US here, not the separate international product. The US version operates through QCX LLC, a CFTC regulated exchange registered as a designated contract market with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.

Bitcoin takes up a good chunk of the crypto board. On Polymarket US you’ll find price-threshold markets asking whether BTC reaches or finishes above a certain level, plus 15-minute Up/Down contracts based on where the coin ends that short window.

They also have crypto-policy markets. Those can cover legislation, regulation and other real-world outcomes, so your view doesn’t always have to be about where BTC itself is headed.

For the 15-minute Bitcoin markets, Polymarket US settles using CF Benchmarks’ Bitcoin Real-Time Index (BRTI) rather than the price shown on any single exchange. Both the opening and closing reference points are calculated by averaging 60 one-second BRTI readings taken during the final minute of that window.

I ran a 15-minute BTC Up/Down contract during a fairly volatile stretch last week, and the settlement price landed about four cents off what my exchange app was showing at that exact second — a good reminder to read the contract rules, not just glance at a chart.

So if your Coinbase app shows Bitcoin at one price and Polymarket settles at another slightly different one, that doesn’t mean something went wrong — the contract resolves on the BRTI calculation set out in its rules.

New users can use the Polymarket promo code LABS to Deposit $10, Get a $25 Trading Bonus!

18+ Only. Restrictions and eligibility requirements apply. Not available in all jurisdictions. Trading is risky. 100% loss can occur. See polymarket.com/tos for more information. The Polymarket US App serves as an independent software provider and affiliate of Polymarket US and Polymarket Clearing, the CFTC-regulated exchange and clearing organization.

Kalshi: Multi-Coin Prediction Market Trading

Kalshi's website showing 1 hour crypto markets

Kalshi gives you quite a bit more crypto markets to trade than Bitcoin. Their current 15-minute board includes BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP and DOGE, along with coins such as BNB, HYPE, NEAR and ZEC.

The timeframes spread out from there. You can move from 15-minute Up or Down contracts into hourly, daily, weekly, and longer markets depending on the coin.

Pulling up Kalshi’s board during a quiet afternoon, I counted nine separate coins live across the 15-minute window alone — more than I expected going in.

Kalshi also handles settlement a little differently from simply using one price the moment the clock hits zero. Its crypto markets use CF Benchmarks real-time indexes. On a 15-minute Bitcoin contract, for example, Kalshi takes one reading every second during the final minute and averages all 60.

So if Bitcoin flashes higher for a second and immediately drops back, that one move is less likely to decide the whole contract. It also explains why the settlement figure may not match the price you happen to see on Coinbase or another crypto app.

Kalshi also offers perpetual futures, but they’re a separate product from its prediction markets. Perps use margin and leverage, carry no expiration date, and can be liquidated if the market moves far enough against you — a very different risk profile from a fully collateralized event contract.

New users can use the Kalshi promo code LABS55 to Trade $25, Get $55!

Certain limitations apply. The offer is available to new users only, subject to the terms and conditions at kalshi.com/tc/55. 18+ only. Restrictions and eligibility requirements apply. Event contract trading involves significant risk and is not appropriate for everyone. Please carefully consider if it is appropriate for you in light of your personal financial circumstances. Kalshi products are not available in all jurisdictions. See kalshi.com/regulatory for more information. Not available in AZ, IL, MA, MD, MI, MT, NV, OH, and WA.

Kalshi Perps: A Different Product Entirely

Kalshi Perps are a separate product from the event contracts covered above, and the risk profile is very different.

Perpetual futures offer leverage and have no set expiration date. You post margin to take a long or short position, and if the market moves far enough against you, that position can be liquidated automatically.

There’s no $1/$0 structure capping the loss at what you originally paid — because perpetuals never expire, they instead use funding payments to keep their price in line with the underlying crypto market, and those payments move between long and short traders and can add up over time, especially when funding rates are volatile.

Kalshi keeps perps margin separate from your prediction-market balance, and you can set take-profit and stop-loss orders to automatically close a position once it hits a price you choose.

⚖️ Feature 🎯 Kalshi Event Contracts 📈 Kalshi Perps (Perpetual Futures)
Leverage None Yes, margin-based
Expiration Yes, contracts resolve on a set date None — perpetuals never expire
Max loss Capped at what you paid ($1/$0 structure) Uncapped (position can be liquidated)
Liquidation risk No Yes, if the market moves far enough against your margin
Funding payments No Yes, paid between long and short sides
Balance Prediction-market balance Separate margin account
Order types Standard Take-profit and stop-loss supported

The CFTC approved KalshiEX’s BTCPERP contract on May 29, 2026, with Bitcoin perpetual futures launching in June before the lineup expanded.

FanDuel Predicts: Crypto Inside a Wider Market Menu

fanduel predicts app showing crypto markets

FanDuel Predicts doesn’t give crypto a big standalone section. Its cryptocurrency contracts sit with the financial markets, alongside categories such as commodities and economic indicators.

Naturally, the selection is smaller than what you’ll see at Kalshi or OG.com, particularly if you’re looking for altcoins or short-duration markets. If you’re mostly interested in mainstream crypto price questions, though, there’s less to sift through.

FanDuel Predicts is also separate from FanDuel Sportsbook. They share the FanDuel name, but they use different accounts, products and availability rules.

Crypto.com Predict: Crypto Contracts Inside the Crypto.com App

Crypto.com's website showing 1 hour crypto markets inside its Predict tab

If you’ve used Crypto.com before, Predict will feel familiar — it’s built into the same US app, under its own Predict tab, rather than living on a separate site.

Prediction Trading runs through Crypto.com | Derivatives North America, with both market and limit orders available, and you can close a position early when there’s enough activity on the other side.

You’ll also see the estimated trading cost before submitting an order. That built-in setup is probably the biggest advantage here — no separate interface to learn just to trade crypto contracts.

OG.com: The Broadest Crypto Menu of the Five

OG.com's website showing 1 hour crypto markets

OG.com launched in February 2026 as a standalone company after spinning off from Crypto.com. Its Nadex entity operates as a CFTC-regulated designated contract market and derivatives clearing organization, and crypto is one of the more developed parts of the platform.

OG.com currently has the widest visible coin selection among the five prediction market apps we’re comparing. Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP and Solana are there, but the board also reaches into Cardano, Dogecoin, Avalanche, Chainlink, Polkadot, Stellar, Litecoin and other altcoins.

The timeframe selection is just as wide. BTC, ETH, XRP and SOL currently run from five-minute and 15-minute markets through one-hour, four-hour, daily and weekly contracts. A lot of the other coins start at 15 minutes and then move into those longer windows.

If you’re an active trader, that gives you a lot of ways to change either the coin or the duration without leaving the platform. OG.com also keeps live order books close to the markets and adds social features and a leaderboard around the trading screen, which I personally found useful.

How Prediction Markets Work for Crypto

Prediction markets turn a future question into a contract that you can trade before the answer is known.

Say a Bitcoin market asks whether BTC will finish above $90,000 on a certain date. If the Yes side costs 61 cents, the market is pricing that outcome at roughly a 61% implied probability before fees. That’s just where traders have priced the contract at that moment, not a guarantee about what happens next.

Binary prediction market contracts usually settle at $1 for the correct outcome and $0 for the incorrect one. Until then, contract prices can move as traders react to the crypto market, breaking news, and anything else that changes expectations.

How to Trade Contracts on Crypto Prices

Once your account is ready, find the crypto market you want and read the contract rules before placing an order. Those rules tell you what has to happen, when trading closes and which price source decides the result — and that last part matters more than it sounds.

I’ve had a limit order sit unfilled through an entire 15-minute window before — worth knowing going in, especially if you’re trying to catch a specific price rather than get in at any cost.

Bitcoin can show slightly different prices across exchanges and indexes at the exact same moment, so the reference written into the contract is the one that actually counts.

From there, a few things shape how the trade plays out:

  • Order type: A market order fills right away at the best available price. A limit order lets you name the price you’re willing to accept, but there’s no guarantee it gets matched.
  • Exiting early: Most prediction market apps let you sell before settlement if there’s enough liquidity on the other side.
  • Order book depth: Whether that exit is realistic depends on the order book at the time — so market depth matters just as much as the price you see on screen.

Crypto Event Trading: Market Types and Short-Dated Contracts

The crypto markets on these apps usually come down to a few different types of questions:

  1. Price thresholds ask whether a coin will be above or below a certain price by a set time.
  2. Up/Down markets are even simpler: they ask whether the price finishes higher or lower than where it started. You’ll find both of these for Bitcoin and for altcoins like Ethereum, Solana, XRP and DOGE.
  3. News and regulation contracts focus on crypto policy instead of price — legislation, ETF approvals or other regulatory decisions.

Some markets also run for very short periods, such as five or 15 minutes. Those move quickly, so a limit order may not fill before the price changes.

And if you trade several short markets back to back, costs can add up — each new trade can bring another fee, and the spread between the buy and sell price can work against you each time you enter or exit.

Prediction Market Trading vs. Buying Crypto

Buying Bitcoin and trading a Bitcoin prediction contract can both give you exposure to BTC’s price, but the two work very differently.

⚡ Feature ₿ Buying Crypto 🎯 Prediction Contract
Ownership You own the asset You own a position on one outcome, not the coin
Duration Hold for a day, a year, or indefinitely Tied to one question with a set endpoint
Value after the event Keeps moving until you sell — no cap Settles once and is done; no upside past the payout
Risk Value can fall as low as the asset allows Fully collateralized — you know your max risk (aside from fees) when you open the position
Shorting Requires borrowing the coin Can take the negative side of a price question directly
What you can trade Price exposure only Price or non-price outcomes (legislation, regulation, etc.)
What you can do with it Transfer, hold long-term, stake, or use elsewhere Exposure to one defined outcome only

Owning crypto still gives you more freedom with the asset itself — Bitcoin doesn’t stop gaining value at a $1 settlement amount, and some coins can be staked, transferred or held indefinitely. If you only want exposure to one defined outcome, a prediction contract gives you that narrower, capped-risk setup instead.

Funding, Fees and Payouts on Prediction Markets

Prediction market apps offer different ways to get money into an account, though crypto deposits aren’t available everywhere.

  • Kalshi: Accepts ACH, debit cards, Apple Pay and supported crypto transfers. For US users, crypto deposits go through Zero Hash and are converted into the cash balance you use to trade.
  • Crypto.com: Prediction Trading runs on a USD Cash Account, but if you already hold supported crypto in the app, Crypto Funding can convert it into USD first.
  • Other platforms: Check the current deposit screen before sending anything.

Do the same check for withdrawals — being able to fund an account one way doesn’t guarantee you can cash out through the same method.

Which Prediction Market Apps Accept Crypto Payments?

📱 App 💱 Crypto Funding ℹ️ What to Know
Polymarket US No Fiat-based (ACH via Aeropay, debit/credit card, Apple Pay). Crypto-based funding is only available on the international Polymarket product.
Kalshi Yes Supported crypto is converted through Zero Hash for US users
FanDuel Predicts No direct crypto method confirmed Check the current in-app banking options
Crypto.com Yes Crypto Funding converts supported assets into USD
OG.com Yes, via Mesh “Crypto-to-Cash” Auto-converts supported crypto (from linked wallets like Coinbase, MetaMask, Phantom) to USDC, then to USD cash on deposit. Withdrawals are USD only — crypto is deposit-only.

Fees work a little differently from one platform to the next. Kalshi’s charges depend on factors such as contract price, quantity and market type, while Crypto.com charges a fixed fee for each crypto prediction contract you trade.

✅ Fee information last checked on October 27, 2026

🏦 Platform ⚙️ Fee Structure 💵 What You Pay
Polymarket U.S. Price-scaled taker fee; maker rebate Taker fee = 0.0695 × contracts × P × (1−P), peaking around $1.74 per 100 contracts at $0.50. Makers earn a small rebate; high-volume takers can get 10–50% rebates.
Kalshi Price-scaled, varies by contract and market Taker fee = 0.07 × contracts × P × (1−P); highest near $0.50 and lower toward the edges. Some markets add maker fees.
Crypto.com Flat per contract $0.02 per contract to open or close (taker or maker). Waived at settlement, win or lose.
OG.com Flat per contract $0.02 per contract to open or close. Waived at settlement, win or lose.

Other prediction platforms use their own fee schedules, so before you confirm a trade, look at the actual cost on the order screen. Two contracts with similar prices can leave you paying different amounts once trading fees are included.

After a market resolves, any payout is credited under that contract’s rules and the platform’s normal account process. Trading gains may be reportable, so keep your records and speak with a qualified tax professional about your personal financial circumstances.

Availability and Account Requirements

CFTC oversight doesn’t mean every prediction market is available to every user. The structure behind the app can vary too. Some prediction market platforms operate through a designated contract market, while others connect users through an exchange, futures commission merchant or independent software provider.

For you, the checklist is much shorter. You generally need to be at least 18, complete identity verification and be physically located somewhere the product is offered.

Access can also depend on the type of contract. Sports event contracts have been at the center of ongoing disputes over federal derivatives regulation and state gaming authority, so check the current eligibility rules before you open or fund an account.

Responsible Trading Tools for Crypto Contracts

Set a spending limit before you start event contract trading and stick to it, especially with short-dated markets where it’s easy to move straight from one contract into the next, and don’t increase your next position to chase a loss. If you’re using leveraged futures, keep liquidation risk in mind too.

Use responsible trading tools when they’re available, including deposit limits, time-outs and self-exclusion. If trading starts affecting your finances, sleep, work or relationships, step back and get support at 1-800-MY-RESET or 1-800-GAMBLER.

18+ Only. Restrictions and eligibility requirements apply. Not available in all jurisdictions. Trading is risky. 100% loss can occur.

How to Choose the Best Prediction Market for Crypto

Start with the market you actually want to trade, then compare it across every app that lists it — two Bitcoin contracts can look nearly identical and still differ on price, liquidity, fees and settlement rules.

Don’t stop at the price on screen. Check the order book, too: a contract at 46 cents isn’t necessarily the better trade if 48 cents has the liquidity to actually fill your order and let you exit later.

If you’re new to this, focus on three things — what decides the result, what it costs, and whether you can exit early. If you’re more experienced, go further: order-book depth, live data feeds, API access.

Either way, don’t assume one platform is enough. Liquidity and pricing shift from app to app, so it pays to check more than one before you commit.

Best Prediction Markets to Trade Crypto FAQs

Quick answers to the questions that come up most when comparing crypto prediction markets.

What are the best prediction markets to trade crypto?

The best prediction markets to trade crypto are Polymarket US, Kalshi, FanDuel Predicts, Crypto.com Predict and OG.com. They differ most in coin selection, contract length and market variety.

Can I trade Bitcoin without buying Bitcoin?

Yes. Prediction market contracts let you trade a defined Bitcoin price outcome without owning BTC or managing a crypto wallet.

What are 15-minute crypto markets?

They’re event contracts tied to what happens to a crypto price during one 15-minute window. Polymarket US, Kalshi and OG.com currently offer them.

Can I deposit crypto into prediction market apps?

Some prediction platforms support it. Kalshi accepts supported crypto transfers, Crypto.com can convert supported assets into the USD balance used for Prediction Trading, and OG.com converts crypto from linked wallets into USD on deposit. Polymarket US and FanDuel Predicts are fiat-only.

Are crypto prediction markets legal in the US?

Federally regulated contracts can trade through CFTC regulated exchanges, but access still depends on the platform, contract and location.

What’s the difference between a crypto event contract and a perpetual future?

An event contract resolves around a defined outcome. A perpetual future has no expiration date, uses margin and leverage, and can be liquidated if the market moves against you.

Crypto prediction markets let you trade price moves and outcomes tied to Bitcoin, Ethereum and other digital assets, without having to buy the coins themselves.
