After a great week at the PGA Championship, the PGA TOUR heads back to Texas for the final stop in the Lone Star State in 2025. Even though it comes just after a Signature Event and major championship, the Charles Schwab Challenge draws a strong field since it continues a great tradition at Colonial Country Club. Colonial is the longest-running host venue for a non-major golf tournament on the PGA TOUR. The venue in Fort Worth is also the de facto “home course” of Scottie Scheffler, who will tee it up again this week looking to build on his second win of the season and third career major championship last week at Quail Hollow.
It should be another awesome week for fantasy golf with solid GPP contests on DraftKings. For all the details about the field, the course, the weather, and some key stats to track, check out this First Look from RotoGrinders.
Especially in large-field GPP tournaments, you’ll want to make sure to target players who have lower ownership projections than their potential performance. Finding high-leverage plays is critical for GPP success, so the picks here go against the grain, looking for under-owned options.
All Strokes Gained metrics referenced are from the Rabbit Hole.
Usually, I rely heavily on the Strokes Gained Model in FantasyLabs, which is very predictive of results. I also tend to lean toward players who excel in Strokes Gained: Approach, which is more sustainable week-to-week than a hot putter.
Since these are GPP picks, we can accept more risk in exchange for getting a higher ceiling. High-risk, high-reward options with low ownership create the “boom-or-bust” style lineups that often lead to large-field success. No matter what type of format you prefer, be sure to use the FantasyLabs PGA Models to help you make the best choices. These models use stats and simulations to highlight different players’ strengths and weaknesses. A few critical new stats for GPP play are Perfect% and SimLeverage, which are further explained here.
As you dig into the numbers, you can enjoy the many tools FantasyLabs offers, including the Lineup Optimizer, which effortlessly creates up to 300 lineups. Alternatively, you can use the Lineup Builder if you prefer a more hands-on approach.

Scottie Scheffler, $13,700
Even though he’s almost $4,000 more than any other golfer in the field, Scheffler is hard to pass up this week in any format. For GPP lineups, having low ownership and differentiating your roster is key, but since he has such a high probability of winning or finishing near the top, Scheffler is worth paying up for and eating the chalk while hunting for low ownership in your other five roster spots.
Scheffler’s ownership projection is over 40%, but his Perfect% is massive at 55%, while no other golfer has a Perfect% over 17%. Even with his high ownership, he has the highest SimLeverage in the field while bringing the highest median, floor, and ceiling projections by a wide margin as well.
After not winning in his first eight events this season, Scheffler won back-to-back starts, dominating at THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson and also claiming last week’s PGA Championship at Quail Hollow. He has gone on dominant winning streaks in the past and will look to pick up a win in his third straight start this week.
Even when he doesn’t win, he has continually finished near the top of the leaderboard with seven top-10 finishes in his 10 events in 2025 with no finish worse than T25. He leads the field in Total Strokes Gained, Strokes Gained: Tee-to-Green, and Strokes Gained: Approach over the last 24 rounds.
At Colonial, Scheffler has finished in the top three each of the last three seasons but has never claimed a victory. After winning on the other side of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex at TPC Craig Ranch three weeks ago, he’ll look to grab another win in his home state.
Maverick McNealy $9,500
McNealy has the second-highest SimLeverage in the options over $7,000 and the fourth-highest in the entire field. His ownership projection is the lowest of all players over $8,000, possibly due to a huge salary jump since he was under $8,000 last week at the PGA Championship.
Last week, McNealy finished T33 at the PGA Championship, giving him six straight made cuts. He has five top-10 finishes in his 14 events this season, including a T3 at the Valero Texas Open in San Antonio.
Over the last 24 rounds, he ranks ninth in the field in Total Strokes Gained and 13th in Strokes Gained: Ballstriking. He also ranks fourth in this field for Greens in Regulation Gained and is 15th for Good Drives Gained over that same span.
McNealy has played Colonial Country Club six times in his career, with five made cuts and two top-25 finishes. He finished T17 last year after a closing-round 66. That started an impressive six-month run for McNealy that culminated in his first PGA TOUR win at The RSM Classic last November.
Based on his strong results on similar courses and good course history here, McNealy has a high ceiling this week. Getting him with such a low ownership projection makes him a great option for GPP builds.
