QB Breakdown

Dak Prescott: Dallas Cowboys (-21.5) vs. Miami Dolphins, 47.5 O/U

Two weeks ago, I was cautiously skeptical of first-year offensive coordinator Kellen Moore. Now I’m unabashedly smitten with him. In Weeks 1-2, the Cowboys have been inventive and aggressive on offense. In the past, rarely has Dak had easy throws. With Moore, though, the Cowboys have schemed receivers open and relentlessly attacked defensive vulnerabilities. They’ve been totally un-Cowboy-like.

They are now the Bizarro Cowboys.

A low-end fantasy QB1 for much of his career, Dak has been a top-three producer to open the year. And for Week 3, Dak might have the best spot of any quarterback on the slate.

RB Breakdown

Ezekiel Elliott: Dallas Cowboys (-21.5) vs. Miami Dolphins, 47 Over/Under

Two weeks ago, Zeke was on a beach in Cabo “working out” with Marshall Faulk, and fantasy investors were worried that his holdout might extend into the regular season.

One $90 million contract extension and two warmup games later, Zeke is ready to be locked into daily fantasy lineups. After the appetizers of Weeks 1-2, he is officially ready for the entrée: It’s Zeke week — time to eat.

For the first two weeks of 2019, Zeke has been working his way back into shape and into the offense of new coordinator Kellen Moore. Now Zeke has a great matchup against the Dolphins, who are in full-on tank mode.

WR Breakdown

Nelson Agholor: Philadelphia Eagles (-6) vs. Detroit Lions, 45.5 O/U

In Week 2, the Eagles played on Sunday Night Football, and by the time the despondence of their receiver situation was obvious, Week 3 salaries had already been set. As a result, in the absence of top wide receivers Alshon Jeffery (calf) and DeSean Jackson (groin), Agholor is likely to function as the No. 1 receiver against the Lions and be something of a chalk lock in cash games.

In the 13 games Carson Wentz played in his 2017 breakout campaign, Agholor was fairly comparable to Alshon. Now Agholor gets the benefit of playing without the target hog this week.

TE Breakdown

George Kittle: San Francisco 49ers (-6.5) vs. Pittsburgh Steelers, 43 Over/Under

Kittle entered the season with a lot of hype thanks to his record-setting 1,377-yard receiving campaign last year as well as the return of quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. But through two weeks, he has disappointed.

He’s been priced down to $6,600 on FanDuel as a result, but that’s frankly insulting for a player of his talent. The last time Kittle was this cheap, he went off for 30.5 FanDuel points and a 7-210-1 receiving line on nine targets.
