We travel overseas this week for the Genesis Scottish Open at the Renaissance Club (par 70, 7,237 yards, fescue greens) in North Berwick, Scotland. This par 70 has hosted the Genesis Scottish Open the last six years and for the fourth year in a row, this event will be co-sanctioned between the PGA TOUR and DP World TOUR. In other words, half of this 156-player field are golfers from the PGA TOUR and half are players from the DP World TOUR. At last year’s Genesis Scottish Open, Robert MacIntyre (-18) won by one shot over Adam Scott. After the first two rounds this week, there will be a standard top-65 and ties cut.
The PGA DFS Breakdown offers data-driven analysis for each week’s slate, using the FantasyLabs Tools and metrics to highlight notable golfers.
I’ll be highlighting the best cash game/single-entry plays on the DraftKings main slate, but these players are often great options in any contest.
My analysis will frequently reference Strokes Gained, a set of proprietary metrics generated by the PGA TOUR using millions of data points to calculate how many shots, on average, it takes a player to get the ball in the hole from every distance and situation.
Strokes Gained is now available in the FantasyLabs PGA Models.
There are a variety of Strokes Gained-related metrics, but the six main categories you need to know include:
- Strokes Gained: Off-the-Tee (SG: Off-the-Tee)
- Strokes Gained: Approach (SG: Approach)
- Strokes Gained: Around-the-Green (SG: Around-the-Green)
- Strokes Gained: Putting (SG: Putting)
- Strokes Gained: Ball-Striking (SG: Ball-Striking), which is SG: Off-the-Tee + SG: Approach
- Strokes Gained: Tee-to-Green (SG: Tee-to-Green), which is SG: Ball-Striking + SG: Around-the-Green
Don’t forget to check out two key metrics in our models — Perfect% and SimLeverage. You can find an explainer on those metrics here.
The Cliffs Notes version is that you can use SimLeverage to quickly find leverage plays in tournaments, while Perfect% is great for finding the best price-considered plays for cash games.
And don’t forget to utilize our various PGA DFS tools like our Lineup Optimizer, Lineup Builder, PGA Correlation Dashboard, and our Trends tool.
The following players listed are based on DraftKings scoring and pricing.

DraftKings $10,000+ Range
Rory McIlroy ($11,400)
Saving nearly $2,000 by dropping down from Scottie Scheffler to McIlroy is the right move for cash games this week. McIlroy won the Genesis Scottish Open two years ago and then he finished T4th at the event last season. Scheffler, on the other hand, has finished T12th, MC, and T3rd in his three starts at the Renaissance Club. Overall, McIlroy is gaining a field-best 2.87 strokes at the par 70, which is far better than Scheffler at 1.44. McIlroy has won three times this season and he is on the heels of a T6 at the Travelers Championship, in which he gained strokes across the board. McIlroy should be in one of the final pairings come Sunday afternoon and is the best starting piece for lineups this week.

DraftKings $9,000 Range
Tommy Fleetwood ($9,900)
Fleetwood has finished inside the top six in three of his five starts at the Renaissance Club, including a runner-up in 2020. The Englishman ranks fifth among this field in Strokes Gained per round at the par 70 and Fleetwood is coming off a runner-up finish at the Travelers Championship, which marked his 11th top-25 in 14 starts this season. Fleetwood ranks third on the PGA TOUR in total Strokes Gained and he should card another high finish at the Renaissance Club this week.
Robert MacIntyre ($9,100)
Before winning last year’s Genesis Scottish Open, MacIntyre finished runner-up at the Renaissance Club the year prior. Growing up about two hours away from this par 70, MacIntyre knows the Renaissance Club extremely well and the Scot takes this event very seriously every year. MacIntyre posted a 7-under 63 during the third round of the Genesis Scottish Open last season and he ranks second only to McIlroy in Strokes Gained per round at the Renaissance Club. Most notably with a runner-up at the U.S. Open last month, MacIntyre has produced eight top-25 finishes in 17 starts this season and he is in prime position to defend his title this week. When we compare this field’s last 24 rounds, MacIntyre ranks eighth in Total Strokes Gained and despite carrying the sixth-best odds to win the Genesis Scottish Open at +3000 on DraftKings Sportsbook, the 28-year-old is only the ninth-most expensive DFS option on DraftKings this week.
DraftKings $8,000 Range
Matt Fitzpatrick ($8,800)
Fitzpatrick has tallied three top-15 finishes in six starts at the Renaissance Club – including a runner-up in 2021 – and the Englishman is playing his best golf of the season right now. After finishing T17th at the Travelers Championship, Fitzpatrick finished T8th at the Rocket Classic two weeks ago. Outside of with his putter, Fitzpatrick gained strokes in every major category at both these tournaments. At +4000 on DraftKings Sportsbook, Fitzpatrick is underpriced for his odds to win the Genesis Scottish Open, as these are the same odds as Viktor Hovland, who costs $9,300 for DFS purposes.
Maverick McNealy ($8,000)
McNealy finished T16th in his debut at the Renaissance Club last year and he has been ultra consistent as of late, making nine of his past 10 cuts with seven finishes of T33rd or better during this stretch. McNealy ranks 27th in total Strokes Gained this season and he has a ton of merit for cash games at this reasonable $8,000 salary.

DraftKings $7,000 Range
Max Greyserman ($7,800)
Greyserman is fresh off a runner-up at the Rocket Classic, which is his highest finish of 2025, and he has advanced to the weekend in 14 of his 16 solo starts this season. Greyserman has finished inside the top 25 nine times and he has a great chance to tally another top 25 at the Renaissance Club. Greyserman finished T21st in his debut at the links course last season and this time around, he sits 102 spots higher in the world golf rankings.
Nick Taylor ($7,600)
Taylor has never missed a cut in three tries at the Renaissance Club – including a T19 two years ago – and the Canadian has made 15 of 18 cuts this season with 10 top-25 finishes, four of which have come in his last four starts. Taylor has gained strokes on approach at six events in a row and he ranks 11th in SG: Approach this season, setting him up well for the Renaissance Club, where each of the last three Genesis Scottish Open champions have finished the tournament in the top eight in SG: Approach.
Tom Kim ($7,600)
Kim’s resume at the Renaissance Club is tough to overlook. In his three starts at the venue, Kim has finished third, T6th, and T15th, in that order. Among this field, Kim ranks first in average finish and third in Strokes Gained per round at the Renaissance Club. Kim has been up-and-down this season, making 12-of-19 cuts, and he missed the cut at the John Deere Classic last week, but he only missed the cut by one shot, and Kim’s second round at TPC Deere Run was impressive, with a 5-under 66. Looking to build off this round at the Renaissance Club, Kim brings great upside relative to his low salary. At last year’s Genesis Scottish Open, Kim was priced all the way up to $9,500 on DraftKings.
Chris Gotterup ($7,100)
Gotterup is playing outstanding golf right now and he should redeem himself at the Renaissance Club after missing the cut in his first start at the par 70 last season. Gotterup has produced seven top-30 finishes in his last eight solo starts and he has gained strokes across the board at back-to-back events. Gotterup has shot under par in seven consecutive rounds and he ranks ninth in par four performance this season. Each of the last five victors at the Renaissance Club have finished the event top-seven in par four efficiency and Gotterup should be highly motivated this week, as he can book himself a ticket to the Open Championship if he is a top-three finisher at the Genesis Scottish Open among the players who have to qualify for next week’s major.

DraftKings $6,000 and Below Range
Antoine Rozner ($6,800)
Rozner finished T26th at the Genesis Scottish Open last year, which is the fourth time in five starts at the Renaissance Club that he has made the cut. Rozner now returns to the par 70 as the maker of 11 straight cuts and he ranks 26th in SG: Approach this season. Specifically, Rozner ranks second in proximity to the hole on approach shots from 175-200 yards out, which is a key distance this week, as 25.4% of approach shots at the Renaissance Club over the last five years have come from this length.
Gary Woodland ($6,800)
Woodland is a solid punt for cash games this week. The former U.S. Open champion has made 3 of 3 cuts at Renaissance Club with two top-30 finishes and Woodland has advanced to the weekend in eight of his past 11 starts. The veteran has a 6-under 64 on his resume at the Renaissance Club and Woodland is a -140 favorite to make the cut at the Genesis Scottish Open on DraftKings Sportsbook.
