The PGA TOUR heads to Port Royal Golf Club (par 71, 6,828 yards, Bermuda greens) in Southampton, Bermuda, for the Butterfield Bermuda Championship. Port Royal has been the host of this event since it was added to the annual PGA TOUR schedule in 2019, and Rafael Campos (-19) is the defending champion after winning by three strokes a year ago. There are 120 players competing this week, and a top-65 and ties cut after the first two rounds.
The PGA DFS Breakdown offers data-driven analysis for each week’s slate, using the FantasyLabs Tools and metrics to highlight notable golfers.
I’ll be highlighting the best cash game/single-entry plays on the DraftKings main slate, but these players are often great options in any contest.
My analysis will frequently reference Strokes Gained, a set of proprietary metrics generated by the PGA TOUR using millions of data points to calculate how many shots, on average, it takes a player to get the ball in the hole from every distance and situation.
Strokes Gained is now available in the FantasyLabs PGA Models.
There are a variety of Strokes Gained-related metrics, but the six main categories you need to know include:
- Strokes Gained: Off-the-Tee (SG: Off-the-Tee)
- Strokes Gained: Approach (SG: Approach)
- Strokes Gained: Around-the-Green (SG: Around-the-Green)
- Strokes Gained: Putting (SG: Putting)
- Strokes Gained: Ball-Striking (SG: Ball-Striking), which is SG: Off-the-Tee + SG: Approach
- Strokes Gained: Tee-to-Green (SG: Tee-to-Green), which is SG: Ball-Striking + SG: Around-the-Green
Don’t forget to check out two key metrics in our models — Perfect% and SimLeverage. You can find an explainer on those metrics here.
The Cliffs Notes version is that you can use SimLeverage to quickly find leverage plays in tournaments, while Perfect% is great for finding the best price-considered plays for cash games.
And don’t forget to utilize our various PGA DFS tools like our Lineup Optimizer, Lineup Builder, PGA Correlation Dashboard, and our Trends tool.

DraftKings $10,000 Range
Rico Hoey ($10,400)
Hoey is a great starting piece for cash game lineups this week. After finishing T17th in his first attempt at Port Royal last season, Hoey returns to the par 71 as a far more polished player. The 30-year-old has made nine of his last 10 cuts with four finishes of T11 or better during this span, including a runner-up at the Bank of Utah Championship two weeks ago. Hoey sits at a career-best No. 75 in the world golf rankings, which is 35 spots higher than his ranking heading into last year’s Butterfield Bermuda Championship. Plus, Hoey ranks first in Strokes Gained per round when we compare this field’s last 24 rounds, and he ranks first among this field in Strokes Gained per round at fall events. Hoey carries the best odds to win the Butterfield Bermuda Championship this week, and he is well worth his slate-high salary.
DraftKings $9,000 Range
Nico Echavarria ($9,700)
Echavarria finished T22nd in his lone start at Port Royal three years ago when he was the No. 410 ranked player in the world. Since then, Echavarria has won twice on the PGA TOUR, and he has moved himself up to the No. 58 spot in the world rankings. Echavarria has finished T9th and T14th in his last two starts, with that latter finish coming at last year’s World Wide Technology Championship, and to conclude this event, he posted a 9-under 63 on Sunday, which tied for the lowest score of the final round. Echavarria ranks fifth in Strokes Gained per round when we compare this field’s last 24 rounds, and he is a sensational target this week.
Piercescon Coody ($9,600)
Coody has been outstanding, making eight of his last 10 cuts with five top-25 finishes during this timeframe, including a T3 at the Bank of Utah Championship two weeks ago. Coody leads the PGA TOUR in SG: Off-the-Tee this season, and to combine with his elite driving skills, Coody has been excellent with his irons recently, gaining strokes on approach at three events in a row. Coody finished T12th in his first start at Port Royal last season, and he should best himself with an even higher finish this week. Currently, Coody sits at No. 101 in the world golf rankings, which is 81 spots higher than his ranking before last year’s Butterfield Bermuda Championship.

DraftKings $8,000 Range
Matt Kuchar ($8,600)
Kuchar has only missed two cuts in 16 starts this season, and he has finished inside the top 18 in all three of his starts this fall. Kuchar most notably just finished T11th at the World Technology Championship last week, and he carded two 7-under 65s at El Cardonal. Kuchar ranks second only to Hoey in Strokes Gained per round when we compare this field’s last 24 rounds, and his excellent run this fall should continue at Port Royal, despite this being his first start at the venue.
Sahith Theegala ($8,000)
After an ugly summer, Theegala’s game is trending up right now. The former top-12 ranked player in the world has finished T38th, T27th and T27th this fall and he gained strokes on approach at all these events. Additionally, Theegala has shot under in all but one of these past eight rounds. The 27-year-old clearly found something in his swing recently and he should provide a much higher finish at Port Royal than the T72 he posted in his only attempt the course in 2021.

DraftKings $7,000 Range
Seamus Power ($7,600)
Power finished T27th at the World Wide Technology Championship last week, marking his sixth straight made cut, and the Irishman won at Port Royal in 2022. Power has never missed a cut in five starts at the seaside venue, and he has carded three top-25 finishes in a row at Port Royal. Power ranks fifth among this field in Strokes Gained per round at this track, and he is a lock for cash games this week at this low $7,600 salary, which is very egregious, given he was priced over $10,000 on DraftKings for each of his last three starts at Port Royal.
Greyson Sigg ($7,400)
Sigg is another cash game staple in the $7,000 range. The 30-year-old has been stellar this fall, making 4-of-4 cuts and carding three top-25 finishes. Sigg has gained strokes on approach at all four of these tournaments, and he now brings this form to Port Royal, where he has finished inside the top 25 in all three of his starts at the course, including a career-best T9 last season. Sigg has a 7-under 64 on his resume at Port Royal, and he ranks sixth among this field in Strokes Gained per round at the par 71.
Max McGreevy ($7,400)
Highlighted by a T8 in 2022, McGreevy has made 3 of 3 cuts at Port Royal, and he enters this week riding a three-made-cut streak, including a T11 at the Bank of Utah Championship two weeks ago. McGreevy fired off a 9-under 63 at El Cardonal last week, and he is a great bargain at this low price tag.
DraftKings $6,000 and Below Range
David Lipsky ($6,900)
Lipsky is way too cheap and he would have been a completely viable play with a salary in the $7,000 range this week. Lipsky has finished T13th and T9th at the last two Butterfield Bermuda Championships, and he is gaining a strong 1.18 strokes per round at the par 71. Entering this week, Lipsky has only missed one cut in his last 10 starts and he has tallied six top-35 finishes during this span.
David Skinns ($6,800)
Skinns has advanced through the cut in 10 of his last 14 starts, and the Englishman has displayed great upside during this stretch with three top-10 finishes. Skinns now heads to Port Royal, where he has finished T34th and T42nd in his two appearances at the venue. Skinns should once again make the cut at Port Royal and he is a viable option for cash game if you need the salary relief this week.
