My tiers provide a great way to comment on specific players, give a look inside my projections process, and highlight whatever I feel is worth discussing heading into the week.
But keep in mind that I write this early in the week, early in my process. There will be a ton of new information/clarity by the time games kick off, and even more time for me to find other things as I update my projections. So the updated projections/rankings closer to kickoff are absolutely what you should be using when setting lineups.
Be sure to check out all the updates we made for the 2026-2027 NFL season to our Season-Long, Best Ball, and Survivor tools.
Week 1 is especially volatile because so much of what we are going off of comes from practice/beat reports, with coaches playing things very close to the vest when it comes to their plans. After this week, the cat will be out of the bag, and we will have our first real glimpse at actual usage data. That usually causes people to overreact/underreact to results, which is why Week 2 is always one of my favorite weeks. We finally have data and overreactions.
But Week 1 is obviously one of my favorite weeks too because it means football is back.
So let’s hop into Week 1 and some thoughts I have on specific players and how I’m viewing them.
