NBA Trend of the Day: Back-To-Back Away Games

We truly believe here at FantasyLabs that we have the most unique tools and data available to DFS users. However, we also realize that those tools and data are only as awesome and helpful as our ability to effectively communicate how to use everything. As such, we will continually listen to feedback of what you need and try our best to teach our subscribers how to use all of the cool things we have to offer.

With this in mind, we’ve begun a “Trend of the Day” series. Every weekday we’ll walk our subscribers through an important trend for that day’s slate of games.

One of the most interesting aspects of this series (in my mind, anyways) is how differently even the writers here at FantasyLabs use our Trends tool. Some of us use it to mine for bargains throughout the year while others look to see how particular individuals perform according to certain Vegas criteria. Although the latter suits my usual research, I also find myself creating trends in order to help decide whether or not to pay up for those higher-priced players.

In this slate, for example, several players that will habitually crop up in your lineup construction — Stephen Curry, Russell Westbrook, Kevin Durant, etc. — are on the second-leg of a true road back-to-back. And by law of said lineup construction, one of the first questions I tend to ask is how X player has performed in those instances.

Fortunately, we can find out.

Step 2: Time Filters > B2B > Set “2A”

Step 3: Time Filters > NBA Season > Set “2015-16”

Nothing too dramatic here. But since we’re essentially curious as to how particular players in this slate have performed under such conditions, I can actually isolate “Golden State Warriors, Oklahoma City Thunder, San Antonio Spurs” under Team Filters and produce the following results:

And there you have it. Spend wisely!
