CS:GO Projections for Wednesday, April 8: Keep it s1mple

DraftKings is now offering daily fantasy games for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO)! A Showdown game, a CS:GO roster has five “flex” spots and one “captain” slot, which receives a 1.5x multiplier on fantasy output.

Points are primarily earned via kills and assists, while each death comes with a one-point penalty. DraftKings CS:GO uses a “game-length adjustment” (GLA), which normalizes all games to a total of 90 rounds. For instance, if a match is won 2-0, a full 30-round “adjustment” is awarded to each player in the match to make up for the unneeded third set. GLA is factored into these projections, as all players are adjusted based on the assumption of full three-set matches.

CS:GO Notes for Wednesday, Apr. 8

  • Wednesday’s slate consists of the same six teams that played on Tuesday’s slate, which makes price movement very interesting. The player whose salary dropped the most between Tuesday and Wednesday is Xyp9x of Astralis, who is down to $6,200 on Wednesday from $8,000 on Tuesday. With DraftKings having released pricing before Astralis’ Tuesday afternoon matchup against FaZe, this price movement appears to be mainly driven by Xyp9x’s woeful 36-point performance on Monday. Prior to Monday’s dud however, Xyp9x had registered more kills than deaths in five straight matches and he currently projects as the top overall value on Wednesday after logging 94 fantasy points on Tuesday.
  • S1mple’s price tag remains constant at $9,200 despite his massive ownership on Tuesday’s slate, in which he appeared on 73.6% of lineups entered into DraftKings’ $50,000 Clutch contest. S1mple disappointed with only 49.93 fantasy points as mousesports made quick work of Natus Vincere 2-0, but the betting markets are expecting NaVi to bounce-back on Wednesday against FaZe. S1mple will no doubt be leading the charge and it’s possible that his ownership will be lower after Tuesday’s letdown.
  • Astralis once again looks like a intriguing team to stack in its Wednesday matchup with OG. While Xyp9x is currently the top overall value on the slate, teammates gla1ve and magisk also rank inside the top five. Astralis is listed as a -357 favorite at the time of this writing, and its players could become popular targets after the team’s 2-0 demolition of FaZe on Tuesday afternoon.
