CS:GO DFS Projections for Friday, April 10: FanDuel launches CS:GO

We have big news in the CS:GO DFS streets with FanDuel launching its own product to compete with DraftKings! FanDuel’s scoring system is setup much differently than what you may be used at DraftKings. Here are the main differences to be aware of:

  • Most importantly, Game Length Adjustment (GLA) has been replaced by a “Sweep” bonus on FanDuel. Whereas DraftKings uses GLA to ensure all players are credited with 30 full rounds of action, FanDuel will not adjust player scores for rounds not played. Instead, FanDuel will award a 15-point player bonus for completing a 2-0 sweep.
  • No points are awarded for Clutches, Entry Kills, Quad Kills, or Aces.
  • A 0.2-point bonus is awarded for each head-shot.

Roster construction also varies between the two sites. FanDuel’s roster format includes an “MVP” whose fantasy points are scored at a 1.5x rate along with four “Player” spots that are scored at the normal rate. FanDuel added a twist with its “Team” spot, which allows you to select one of the teams on the slate to be scored on Bombs Planted/Defused and Rounds Won/Lost with bonuses for Matches Won and Team Sweeps.

Projections for both DraftKings and FanDuel will be included below.

CS:GO Notes for Friday, Apr. 10

Friday’s slate contains two matches from Flashpoint 1 — Chaos vs. HAVU and MIBR vs. Orgless — along with Team Liquid squaring off against Evil Geniuses in the ESL Pro League.

  • The top end of the salary scale is crowded at DraftKings with six players — fer, EliGE, FalleN, ZOREE, doto, and sLowi — priced between $8,200 and $9,000. Of those options, EliGE currently has the highest projection at 81.13. Although Team Liquid is not the heaviest favorite on the board — that honor belongs to MIBR — EliGE outpaces all the other $8,200-$9,000 stars with a 23.1% share of team kills over the past six months.
  • Speaking of MIBR, take a look at kNgV if you plan on stacking the team with the best odds to win on Friday. While kNgV’s death and assist rates are both below average, his 21.5% share of team kills will play at his cheap $7,000 salary.
  • Roster builds on DK will favor jamming in multiple players from the top end, which will make it necessary to roster at least one player from the bargain bin. With that in mind, SicK at $5,400 is an intriguing option. Chaos is currently listed as a +235 dog to HAVU Gaming, but SicK doesn’t need to do much to pay off his salary. He had been priced at or above $7,000 in each of his last two games and had posted more kills than deaths in five straight before going 47:55 against FunPlus Phoenix last week.
