San Francisco 49ers Preview

Brock Purdy leads the league in QBR at 85.5, and San Francisco ranks second in EPA per play with Christian McCaffrey and George Kittle healthy. The main concerns are injuries at receiver and defensive absences, including Nick Bosa being out.

Washington Commanders Preview

Jayden Daniels looked healthy in his return last week, throwing for 199 yards and rushing for 103 more. Washington’s bigger issue is a pass defense that ranks in the bottom 10 in EPA per play allowed, which is a difficult matchup against Purdy and San Francisco’s offense.

Commanders vs. 49ers Prediction

I project a score tonight of something like 49ers 30, Commanders 20. Purdy and McCaffrey should consistently find space against a Washington defense that has struggled against the pass, while Daniels will need to create with his legs to keep the Commanders competitive.

The main concern is the backdoor cover. Daniels is capable of turning a comfortable San Francisco lead into a one-score finish late, but I still prefer the 49ers to create enough separation.
