The PGA TOUR doesn’t have any more official events until 2026, but there are a few unofficial tournaments throughout December. This week, some of the biggest names on the PGA TOUR are headed to the Bahamas for the Hero World Challenge. Most of these players haven’t teed it up since the Ryder Cup, but they will head to Albany Golf Club for this limited-field unofficial event.
Tiger Woods is the host but will not play this year, but the field consists of 20 of the top names in the sport, headlined by Scottie Scheffler. It’s a no-cut format, so all 20 golfers will get in four rounds, barring withdrawal or disqualification. For more info on the course, the field, and what to look for from a statistical perspective this week, check out this First Look from RotoGrinders.
Especially in large-field GPP tournaments, you’ll want to make sure to target players who have lower ownership projections than their potential performance. Finding high-leverage plays is critical for GPP success, so the picks here go against the grain, looking for under-owned options.
All Strokes Gained metrics referenced are from the Rabbit Hole.
Usually, I rely heavily on the Strokes Gained Model in FantasyLabs, which is very predictive of results. I also tend to lean toward players who excel in Strokes Gained: Approach, which is more sustainable week-to-week than a hot putter.
Since these are GPP picks, we can accept more risk in exchange for getting a higher ceiling. High-risk, high-reward options with low ownership create the “boom-or-bust” style lineups that often lead to large-field success. No matter what type of format you prefer, be sure to use the FantasyLabs PGA Models to help you make the best choices. These models use stats and simulations to highlight different players’ strengths and weaknesses. A few critical new stats for GPP play are Perfect% and SimLeverage, which are further explained here.
As you dig into the numbers, you can enjoy the many tools FantasyLabs offers, including the Lineup Optimizer, which effortlessly creates up to 300 lineups. Alternatively, you can use the Lineup Builder if you prefer a more hands-on approach.

Scottie Scheffler $14,900
In such a small field, Scheffler brings too much upside to pass up. Even though his salary is almost $5,000 more than everyone else’s and he’s projected to be very chalky. Since 30% of the field will be in every DraftKings lineup, the ownership projections will be extremely high for all the golfers, but especially for Scheffler.
He’s a heavy favorite in Vegas and has the top ceiling, median, and floor projections by a wide margin.
Scheffler has won six events so far in 2025, and he’ll look to grab his seventh win and third straight victory at the Hero World Challenge before the end of the year. He finished runner-up in 2021 and 2022 before winning in 2023 and 2024.
Not surprisingly, after another very successful season, Scheffler leads the field in multiple key metrics. He leads the field in Total Strokes Gained, Strokes Gained: Approach, and Strokes Gained: Tee-to-Green over the last 30 rounds, the last 50 rounds, and the entire last calendar year.
With so much course history and strong form, Scheffler brings a ton of win equity this week, and he is a strong place to start your lineup for GPP before looking to differentiate in other spots.
