NFL DFS Saints vs. Seahawks Showdown Breakdown (Monday, Oct. 25): Alvin Kamara’s Usage is Concerning

NFL Week 7 comes to a close with a Monday Night Football showdown between the New Orleans Saints and the Seattle Seahawks at 8:15 p.m. ET.

In these articles, I’ll be using various FantasyLabs tools and other industry metrics to break down the slate. And don’t forget to check out our Lineup Builder if you like to hand build your lineups, or are Lineup Optimizer for those of you that like to enter multiple lineups into tournaments.

Studs

Kamara has had a quiet start to his fantasy season, and his role has been vastly different than it was with Drew Brees. Instead of doing most of his damage as a pass-catcher, he’s been used primarily as a pure running back. He’s already hit 20 carries in three games this year, and he hit that threshold just once in his first four seasons. He also has three games with four targets or fewer, which is a suboptimal use of his skill set. Overall, trading a few targets for some additional carries has been a bad tradeoff for his fantasy numbers.

That said, he is coming off his best game of the season last week. He finished with 16 carries and eight targets, and he also scored two touchdowns. That provides some optimism moving forward.
