How to Leverage NFL DFS Ownership Projections in Week 12

Adam Levitan projects ownership for every NFL DFS player each week in the FantasyLabs Player Models. Gauging ownership is important when it comes to tournaments so you can try to gain leverage on the field. You don’t need a team of 1%-owned players to win a tournament, but it’s also unlikely you’ll win a tournament with an abundance of highly-owned players.

The goal of this article is to give a brief rundown of the players we project to be the highest owned heading into the week, along with how they can affect roster construction. And just to get you thinking about the slate and roster construction in general.

Be sure to check the ownership projections throughout the week, as breaking news can cause these to fluctuate.

Note: Ownership percentages as of Friday morning.

Quarterbacks

There are a few key games on this slate that DFS players will be targeting, meaning quarterback ownership will be spread out. Granted, that’s typically how it is for this position anyway.

Matt Ryan and Jameis Winston are expected to be the highest-owned on the slate, and I’d expect that to be true in both cash games and tournaments. Ryan will likely end up in my cash game team because he’s in the best game environment for Week 12.

Given quarterback scoring and ownership is normally condensed there aren’t typically many leverage spots for them, but some appealing leverage options with positive Leverage Plus/Minus scores in our Player Models include Drew Brees, Derek Carr and Tom Brady.
