Week 9 NFL DFS GPP Targets: Players with Highest Ceilings at Every Position

We have an excellent 10-game main slate on tap for Week 9 that begins at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday.

This piece will highlight the top NFL DFS players at each position in our FantasyLabs Player Models in terms of their projected ceiling from our award-winning Director of Predictive Analytics, Sean Koerner.

(Do people even read intros?)

Let’s dive in.

Top Model Quarterback Ceiling Projections

Russell Wilson ($7,100 DraftKings; $8,600 FanDuel)

Wilson is in a classic funnel spot against a Bucs defense that ranks 26th in pass DVOA and first in rush DVOA. However, that doesn’t necessarily mean the Seahawks will start being a pass-heavy team, they still want to run the ball. An early score or two from Tampa would certainly help, though.

That said, Wilson should be able to take advantage of the dropbacks he’s given; he’s averaging 0.64 fantasy points per dropback, the second-best mark in the league.

Seattle also isn’t afraid to air the ball out: Overall, Wilson is second in the league with 43 pass attempts of 20-plus yards downfield. Of his 250 attempts, 43 of them have been deep passes (17%). For reference, Philip Rivers has the same amount of deep passes, but on 305 attempts. And for a run-heavy team, the Seahawks pass a lot in the red zone. Russ ranks third in the league in red-zone pass attempts and leads the league in passing touchdowns from inside the 20- and 10-yard line.

Considering the Seahawks have an abysmal defense and Tampa is an aggressive offense, this game looks like it has a good chance to be one of the highest-scoring games on the main slate.
