NFL Week 12 Trend: Expensive RBs With Low Pro Trends

NFL Trend of the Week

With no byes in Week 12, all NFL teams will be playing for the first time since Week 3. With this complete player pool, it’s important as ever to detect which players might not be worth their cost.

Let’s use our Trends tool to see if there are expensive running backs that could disappoint this week.

Player Filters > Salary > 5500 to 7900

With a minimum salary of $5,200, we establish a baseline DraftKings Plus/Minus of +1.12.

Trends > Pro Trends > 1 to 4

Our Pro Trends do a great job of illustrating a player’s current DFS situation, whether good or bad. By limiting the filter to a maximum of four, we’re left with a running back group underperforming to a Plus/Minus value of -1.58.

For curiosity’s sake, let’s go one step further and see if matters worsen if the running back is playing at home or away.

Yikes. Historically, playing on the road leads to even worse performances.

It’s hard to bet against DeMarco Murray, as he leads these matches with four Pro Trends and has scored below 20 fantasy points just twice this season. With that said, his DK Bargain Rating is at one percent, and his Opponent Plus/Minus mark is in the eighth percentile; proceed with caution.

Thomas Rawls could be an exception to this trend, considering his injury absence clearly affects his Pro Trends number. His matchup against Tampa Bay is average, but he’ll be the clear workhorse for a Seattle offense that’s hitting its late-season stride (again).

LeGarrette Blount has taken fantasy gamers on a roller coaster ride ever since Tom Brady returned. Blount is on the road in Week 12 with a low Bargain Rating (four percent); it’s easier to stay off the ride this time around.
