Week 13 NFL DFS Stacks and Picks

Sam Howell + Curtis Samuel + Tyreek Hill

  • Sam Howell ($6,200 DraftKings, $7,500 FanDuel)
  • Curtis Samuel ($4,100 DraftKings, $6,200 FanDuel)
  • Tyreek Hill ($9,600 DraftKings, $10,000 FanDuel)

I wouldn’t be surprised if his ownership crept up similar to Josh Allen’s last week, but frankly, I don’t care. Sam Howell is my favorite quarterback option by a wide margin this week. Howell has topped 20 DraftKings points in five straight games, and he’s been chucking it, with 44 pass attempts in all five.

They’re nearly double-digit underdogs this week, and with Miami likely to move the ball at will, Washington will surely need to throw the ball to keep up.

Howell has rushed equity, too, and has flashed upside to smash this price tag. This game environment is very appealing, but the Miami side is fairly expensive. For this game to hit its ceiling, Washington needs to keep up, and with Howell’s cheap tag, if they’re to keep up, he’ll almost certainly smash.

If Howell is to smash, one of his pass-catchers certainly will. Enter Curtis Samuel. Samuel has been a volume-earner when on the field, leading the receiving room in target rate per route run. He doesn’t run a route on every dropback, but Washington will likely have a lot of passing volume this week. He just showed out on Thanksgiving with nine catches for 100 yards.

On the other side, Tyreek Hill is all but destined to feast this weekend. Washington has allowed the second-most DraftKings points per game to opposing receivers, the most yards per target, and the highest touchdown rate. They also run a lot of Cover-1, and Hill averages a whopping 6.1 yards per route run against Cover-1. For the record, there are only eight receivers this year, averaging over two yards per route run.

Christian McCaffrey + 49ers D/ST

  • Christian McCaffrey ($9,000 DraftKings, $9,800 FanDuel)
  • 49ers D/ST ($3,000 DraftKings, $4,200 FanDuel)

Christian McCaffrey‘s role is unrivaled, as he’s a near shoo-in for 20 carries and five targets every week in the most efficient offense. Philadelphia’s linebackers are banged up, priming McCaffrey for the opportunity to feast in the passing game. James Cook just saw success as a dual-threat back against Philadelphia, and there’s no reason McCaffrey won’t do the same.

McCaffrey is a great way to get exposure to one of the top game environments of the week. Brock Purdy is also projected to be one of the highest-owned quarterbacks of the week, and playing McCaffrey in hopes of soaking up some rushing touchdowns is good leverage.

I’m pretty bullish on San Francisco’s outlook as a whole this week, and I think their defense can get after and cause havoc for Jalen Hurts and the Eagles. Philadelphia has won four straight games being outgained by over 100 yards. Playing McCaffrey and the 49ers D/ST is a good way to correlate two pieces and get leverage off of everyone focusing on the 49ers passing attack or the Philadelphia side.
