Daily Fantasy Football Week 1 NFL DFS Stacks and Picks on DraftKings and FanDuel

This piece will identify some of my favorite NFL DFS stacks of the weekend. Be sure to use our Stacking tool within our Player Models to find the highest projected stacks, the stacks that figure to be chalky, and more. Our Correlation Dashboard is also an excellent resource for finding hidden edges in stacking positions and games.

You can also plug these stacks into our Lineup Builder to hand-build the rest of it, or you can optimize it with our projections. And if you like to create multiple lineups, our Lineup Optimizer allows you to effortlessly create up to 300 lineups.

Deshaun Watson + Amari Cooper + David Njoku + Ja’Marr Chase

  • Deshaun Watson ($6,000 DraftKings, $7,400 FanDuel)
  • Amari Cooper ($5,800 DraftKings, $6,700 FanDuel)
  • Ja’Marr Chase ($8,100 DraftKings, $8,500 FanDuel)

This stack is flying a little under the radar, but it’s not going to be unowned. These teams didn’t combine for any fireworks last season, with point totals of 45 and 33 in their two matchups. With a full offseason for Deshaun Watson to get acclimated and a fully healthy offense, I’m optimistic about Cleveland. Amari Cooper is the top dog in this passing game, and although he and Watson didn’t connect last season, the talent is still undeniable. If Watson returns to his old form, his, and likely Cooper’s, prices will be higher in the coming weeks.

Ja’Marr Chase is the perfect bring-back option, as he has a massive ceiling and can speed games up. Cleveland’s new defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz loves to deploy man coverage, which makes Chase an all-systems-go play. He’ll likely be shadowed by Denzel Ward, whose play isn’t as good as his name recognition. Burrow loves to look for Chase in man coverage, so we could see a double-digit target day from the LSU man. This stack looks like a top option this weekend, and it isn’t too cost-prohibitive.

Lamar Jackson + Zay Flowers

  • Lamar Jackson ($8,000 DraftKings, $8,900 FanDuel)
  • Zay Flowers ($4,000 DraftKings, $5,500 FanDuel)

We know Lamar has a massive ceiling, and he flashed it consistently last season with 48.62 and 43.42 DraftKings points in Weeks 2 and 3. Baltimore is also shifting towards a more pass-heavy approach under new offensive coordinator Todd Monken, which will bode well for Jackson’s passing numbers and provide more volume for his receivers.

Zay Flowers may just be the last fully healthy body standing. Rashod Bateman will likely be eased back in after his Lisfranc injury, Odell Beckham Jr. is aging and probably won’t see a full workload, and Mark Andrews is questionable. If Andrews plays and is a full go, you could add him to this stack. If he misses, I will certainly be playing Isaiah Likely with Jackson and Flowers. Flowers ran eight routes in the preseason and caught both of his targets for 37 yards and a touchdown. Jackson ranks outside the top eight in projected quarterback ownership, and Flowers is projected for 3% currently.

Lock and load.

Raheem Mostert + Mike Williams or Gerald Everett

  • Raheem Mostert ($5,400 DraftKings, $5,900 FanDuel)
  • Mike Williams ($5,700 DraftKings, $7,100 FanDuel)
  • Gerald Everett ($4,300 DraftKings, $5,500 FanDuel)

This is by far my favorite secondary stack of the week, getting some low-ish owned pieces of this potential barn burner. Raheem Mostert is great leverage off of Tyreek Hill, who looks like one of the highest-owned receivers of the week. The matchup is also amazing, as Los Angeles allowed 5.6 yards per carry last year to opposing backs.

Mike Williams and Gerald Everett are both great options and will be lower-owned than teammates Austin Ekeler and Keenan Allen. Herbert loves to look Williams’ way against man coverage, where he has a 31.8% target rate per route run compared to 16.6% against zone.

Everett saw career numbers last season and is priced like a middling tight end. We also saw Kellen Moore utilize Dalton Schultz heavily when he was Dallas’ coordinator, so perhaps the same outcome could be in store for Everett. This secondary stack gets you cheap, low-owned upside to the best game environment of the week.
