NBA DFS picks return Tuesday with a three-game opening-night slate on NBC and Peacock. Eligible new users can also sign up with the Underdog promo code LABSNEWS, play $5 in qualifying entries and receive $50 in bonus cash under the promotion terms.
Tuesday’s opening-night NBA DFS picks cover all three NBA games:
- Celtics vs. Pistons at 3 p.m. ET from Little Caesars Arena
- 76ers vs. Knicks at 7 p.m. ET from Madison Square Garden
- Thunder vs. Spurs at 9:30 p.m. ET from Frost Bank Center
Paul George makes his Boston debut in the opener, while LeBron James and Jaylen Brown play their first regular-season game with Philadelphia at Madison Square Garden. The nightcap brings a rematch of last season’s seven-game Western Conference Finals between Oklahoma City and San Antonio.
Underdog sets its own player projections and can move them throughout the day as injury and lineup news changes. Check the live number on the platform before submitting an entry with the Underdog promo code LABSNEWS on one of the best DFS apps.
Best NBA DFS Picks for Opening Night
| Game | Player | Stat | Higher/Lower |
|---|---|---|---|
| Celtics vs. Pistons | Cade Cunningham | Points + Assists | Higher |
| Celtics vs. Pistons | Paul George | Points | Lower |
| 76ers vs. Knicks | Karl-Anthony Towns | Rebounds | Higher |
| 76ers vs. Knicks | LeBron James | Assists | Higher |
| Thunder vs. Spurs | Victor Wembanyama | Blocks | Higher |
| Thunder vs. Spurs | Shai Gilgeous-Alexander | Points | Lower |
- Cade Cunningham Points + Assists Higher: Detroit continues to run its offense through Cunningham, and Jalen Duren’s limited preseason workload could put even more creation on the Pistons’ lead guard. Cunningham’s combination of scoring and passing gives this pick multiple paths to clear the line.
- Paul George Points Lower: George opens his Boston tenure against Ausar Thompson, one of Detroit’s best perimeter defenders. The Pistons have the personnel to make George work for touches while pushing more of Boston’s offense toward Jayson Tatum and Derrick White.
- Karl-Anthony Towns Rebounds Higher: Philadelphia enters with frontcourt injury questions, creating a favorable rebounding setup for Towns. He averaged close to 12 rebounds per game last season and should have an advantage whenever Joel Embiid is off the floor.
- LeBron James Assists Higher: Philadelphia has several high-volume scorers around James with Tyrese Maxey, Jaylen Brown and Embiid. That gives LeBron multiple finishers to target while operating as another primary creator.
- Victor Wembanyama Blocks Higher: Oklahoma City attacks the paint often enough to create block opportunities for Wembanyama. Chet Holmgren’s status is another variable worth monitoring before entries lock.
- Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Points Lower: San Antonio can use Stephon Castle at the point of attack with Wembanyama protecting the rim behind him. I also expect this matchup to play slower and lower-scoring than the market suggests, which supports the Lower on SGA’s points.
The final injury report could move several of these lines. Holmgren, Anfernee Simons, Adem Bona, Dean Wade and Tobias Harris are among the players worth monitoring Tuesday.
