NFL Week 3 wraps up with a Monday Night Football showdown between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Chicago Bears. The Eagles are listed as 3.5-point road favorites, while the total sits at 41.5.
The Eagles enter this contest at 2-0, but they’re lucky to still be undefeated. They won on a failed two-point conversion attempt by the Commanders in Week 1, and they needed a last-minute touchdown drive to survive against the Titans. Just like for much of last season, their offense has struggled to move the ball consistently, but they’re still coming out ahead on the scoreboard.
Meanwhile, the Bears have had two wildly different results to start the year. They erupted for 59 points in Week 1 before stumbling all the way to three points in Week 2. Not only that, they lost starting quarterback Caleb Williams in that contest, while backup QB Tyson Bagent also picked up a concussion. That leaves them with their No. 3 QB for Monday Night Football.
Let’s dive into all the fantasy options for Eagles-Bears.

Jalen Hurts has received plenty of criticism for his play in recent years, but fantasy owners have no such complaints. He’s still getting the job done at a pretty high level. He was tied for eighth in terms of fantasy points at the position last year, and he was No. 9 in 2026-27 through the first two weeks.
Hurts has done his damage this season primarily with his arm. He’s racked up 467 passing yards and five touchdowns, putting him well ahead of last year’s marks. His average of 233.5 passing yards per game would be the second-highest of his career, trailing only his MVP runner-up season in 2022-23.
Of course, Hurts can still do plenty of damage with his legs. He had double-digit rushing touchdowns in four straight seasons before slipping to eight last year. He’s yet to find the paint with his legs in 2026-27, but his overall rushing numbers are strong. He’s averaged 31.0 rushing yards through the first two weeks on six carries per game. If he can pair his increased passing production with his usual volume of rushing touchdowns, Hurts should go back to being one of the best QBs in fantasy.
He takes the field in an excellent spot on Monday. The Bears were absolutely eviscerated on defense in Week 1, and Hurts owns a slate-best +6.5 Opponent Plus/Minus. Unsurprisingly, he owns the top median and ceiling projections in our NFL Models. Hurts also ranks first in projected Plus/Minus and has the top optimal Captain percentage in SimLabs.
DeVonta Smith has been upgraded to Hurts’ No. 1 receiver this season. The team chose to trade the disgruntled A.J. Brown this offseason, and he’s been a target hog since landing in Philadelphia. With him now gone, the coast is clear for Smith to step into that role.
We saw Smith’s upside as Philly’s WR1 last week. He posted some gaudy utilization numbers, racking up a 39% target share, 63% air yards share, and 75% end zone share. He finished with 30.7 DraftKings points, and those types of performances could become a regular occurrence for Smith this season.
The matchup isn’t quite as good for Smith as it is for Hurts, but he still ranks second in both median and ceiling projection. Those two players have a correlation of +0.33, so pairing them together will be the first step for many on this slate.
That leaves Saquon Barkley to round out the stud tier, and he could be the odd man out. Unlike Hurts and Smith, Barkley hasn’t been particularly impressive to start the year. He’s posted a negative Plus/Minus in both games, and he exited last week’s contest early with an injury. Barkley was officially removed from the injury report and is good to go on Monday, but that could still result in a bit less ownership.
Barkley was the fantasy MVP in his first season in Philadelphia, but he carried a massive burden on their run to the Super Bowl. He hasn’t looked the same since. His yards per carry dipped from 5.8 in 2024-25 to just 4.1 last year, and he’s struggled with consistency again this season. He did manage a 42-yard carry vs. the Commanders in Week 1, but his other 18 carries have gone for just 50 yards. Barkley also hasn’t been particularly involved as a pass-catcher (10% target share in Week 1), and he’s always a threat to lose carries to Hurts around the goal line.
Those are plenty of reasons to be skeptical, but Barkley still has a long track record of success. He’s also historically done well as a favorite of at least a field goal, posting an average Plus/Minus of +3.68 (per the Trends tool). He trails only his two teammates in terms of raw projections, and he actually has a better projected Plus/Minus than Smith.
