Raybon: Fantasy Football Do Not Draft List for 2025

With final 53-man rosters taking shape, here is my fantasy football do-not-draft list for 2025.

Editor’s note: ADP via FantasyPros’ Real-Time ADP. All route data is via PFF. All other data is via Pro Football Reference unless otherwise noted.

QB Baker Mayfield, TB (ADP: QB7)

There’s a reason Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen, Jayden Daniels, and Jalen Hurts go off the board by the end of Round 3, yet Mayfield can still be had at QB7 five rounds later.  Each of them posted 500+ rushing yards and 4+ TDs on the ground with a collective average of 741 rushing yards and 9 TDs (128.1 rushing points). Mayfield had by far his friskiest season as a runner in 2024 and topped out with 378 yards and 3 TDs (55.8 rushing points). I’d still consider him a pocket passer, and Rule #1 of drafting QBs is Never Pay Full Price for a Pocket Passer. Rule #2 is, If You Break Rule #1, you do it for Joe Burrow or Patrick Mahomes before you do it for Mayfield. Mayfield posted a QB3 finish last season at a QB22 ADP. The reason he could be had for such a discount? He scored 100 fantasy points with the same offense in the same amount of games a season prior.

I don’t know for sure to what degree Coen was responsible for that, but I do know I have no interest in finding out by using  a top-100 pick on Mayfield. That’s especially true with Mayfield potentially devolving into early-season waiver-wire fodder after just one week, with matchups in Weeks 2-4 against the Texans, Jets, and Eagles, who each finished top-six in net passing yards allowed last season.
