Rangers vs. Tigers DraftKings Same Game Parlay for July 20th

Same game parlays are one of the most entertaining ways to bet. It allows you to place multiple wagers over the same contest, giving you more upside than a traditional wager without having to sweat out multiple games.

It also allows you to build some correlation into your parlays. That correlation will be factored in by the sportsbooks, but that still creates an opportunity for bettors. You can build out bet slips where if one leg hits, it makes it more likely that the others will hit as well.

Let’s dive into my favorite same game parlay for Sunday Night Baseball, featuring the Texas Rangers and the Detroit Tigers.

Detroit Tigers ML (-188) vs. Texas Rangers

The Tigers made a miraculous run to the postseason last year, and they were expected to contend for a postseason spot once again in 2025. However, they’ve absolutely blown those expectations out of the water. They have the best record in the American League, and they currently lead the AL Central by a whopping 11 games.

The Tigers have ridden an excellent pitching staff and sneaky-good offense to their success. They’re sixth in the league in runs per game, which is a massive improvement after finishing 21st in that department last year.

From a pitching standpoint, the Tigers will have the best starter in baseball on the bump on Sunday. Tarik Skubal won the AL Triple Crown last season, leading all pitchers in wins, ERA, and strikeouts, and he’s somehow been even better in 2025. He’s pitched to an elite 2.23 ERA and 2.02 FIP, while his K/9 is up to 11.38.

He should be able to carve through the Rangers’ lineup like a hot knife through butter. The Rangers have struggled mightily against southpaws this season, ranking merely 28th in wRC+.

On the other side, the Rangers were expected to start Nathan Eovaldi in this matchup, but he has ultimately been scratched due to back tightness. Instead, they’ll turn to Jacob Latz, who will make his third start after spending most of the year in the bullpen. Latz has been effective with his opportunities, but it’s hard to imagine him going toe-to-toe with Skubal. I’ll take my chances with Detroit.

Tarik Skubal 9+ Strikeouts

Getting to nine punchouts is a big ask, but it’s well within the realm of possibility for Skubal. He ranks in the 95th percentile for strikeout rate, and he has at least nine punchouts in seven starts. One of those came against the Rangers, racking up 12 punchouts in a two-hit masterclass back on May 9.

In addition to struggling to score runs against southpaws, the Rangers also strike out at an above-average clip. They have the ninth-highest strikeout rate against left-handers, so let’s go with the upside scenario for Skubal. You could look to go even higher, but 9+ at +125 feels like a solid sweet spot.

Jahmai Jones 2+ Hits + Runs + RBIs

Our first two selections were kind of chalky, so let’s look for some value with our third. Jones stands out as a potentially undervalued option for the Tigers on Sunday.

The last time the Tigers faced a lefty, Jones started at DH and batted second in the lineup. Almost all of his at-bats this season have come against southpaws, and he’s fared really well in that split. He’s posted a .275 batting average with two homers, good for a 156 wRC+. Jones will likely have to get his damage done early – he could be lifted for a pinch-hitter against a righty later in the game – but he can potentially hit the over in just one at-bat.
