New in NFL Models: Buzz Scores and Sentiment Ratings

Ownership is extremely important in daily fantasy sports. Finding the correct low-owned plays and fading the correct high-owned plays is a great way to vault your lineup to the top of the leaderboards.

That’s why we’re excited to bring two new metrics from FanShare Sports into our NFL Models: Buzz Score and Sentiment Rating!

Buzz Score measures how much each player is being talked about across the fantasy industry heading into a specific week. Each player is graded on a 1-10 scale, with one being the lowest and 10 the highest. A higher number indicates that a specific player is generating a lot of “buzz,” while a lower number means a particular player could be flying under the radar.

That said, not all buzz is good buzz, which is where the Sentiment Rating comes into play. Players with a high Sentiment Rating are generally generating positive reviews, while a poor Sentiment Rating indicates they might be getting buzz for negative reasons.

Combing those two metrics with our projections from Sean Koerner — FantasyPros’ most accurate in-season ranker for three of the past four seasons — makes our Models a must-have for NFL DFS players.
