Week 8 NFL DFS GPP Targets: Players with Highest Ceilings at Every Position

We have an excellent 12-game main slate on tap for Week 8 that begins at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday.

This piece will highlight the top NFL DFS players at each position in our FantasyLabs Player Models in terms of their projected ceiling from our award-winning Director of Predictive Analytics, Sean Koerner.

(Do people even read intros?)

Let’s dive in.

Top Model Quarterback Ceiling Projections

Deshaun Watson ($7,100 DraftKings; $8,400 FanDuel)

To no one’s surprise, Watson leads our ceiling projections on both DraftKings and FanDuel for his Week 8 matchup against the Raiders.

Watson has been excellent this season, averaging 8.3 yards per attempt with a 78.3% on-target rate, per Sports Info Solutions. He’s also been the second-best quarterback on DraftKings on a per-game basis, averaging 26.24 DraftKings points per game, trailing only Lamar Jackson, per the FantasyLabs Trends tool.

Watson’s rushing provides you with a floor and ceiling you’re looking for in both cash games and tournaments. The Raiders should provide very little to resistance given they rank 30th in pass DVOA and just 22nd in pressure rate.

At the time of writing, Watson is slotted in as my cash-game quarterback. Fire him up in all formats against a defense allowing 6.3 yards per play, the third-highest mark in the league.
