BetMGM Bonus Code, Barstool Promo Code Lakers vs. Warriors

With the NFL season nearly finished, many will turn their focus to the NBA, where every team is just over the halfway point. This Monday features an eight-game slate with many intriguing matchups. Five of the eight games have a projected total north of 236 points, so expect a high-scoring night.

NBA Player Prop Picks

Stephen Curry Under 7.0 Assists

Since returning from injury nearly a month ago, Stephen Curry has averaged only five assists per game and has recorded eight or more assists in just one of eight contests. Curry has continued his scoring spree averaging 29.5 points and a league-high 4.9 3-pointers made per game this season. However, reaching eight or more assists is rare for Curry, with Draymond Green leading the team in assists.

The Thunder have surprised a lot of teams this season, especially defensively. They rank 12th in Defensive Rating and are tied for 12th in assists allowed with 25 per game. This matchup features the highest total on the slate at 242.5 points, as the Thunder and Warriors both rank inside the top three in Pace. However, based on his recent history and our Model projection of just 5.8 assists, we’ll gladly take the under on this prop. Curry has recorded eight or more assists in only 11 of his 34 games (32.3%), and I would recommend this under down to 6.5 assists.

Keegan Murray Over 2.5 3-Pointers Made

The Sacramento Kings — especially 22-year-old rookie Keegan Murray — have caught fire in the month of January. The Kings have won seven of their last 10 games as they currently hold the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference. Murray has settled into his role, averaging 14.1 points per game while shooting 51.9% from the field and 50.6% from behind the arc this month. He has also averaged 3.2 3-pointers made per game, putting him in a good spot tonight.

Murray has made three or more 3-pointers in four of his last five games and nine of his past 14 (64.3%). The Timberwolves have also been very susceptible to the long ball. They are allowing opponents to make 13.1 3-pointers per game while shooting 36.8%, both of which rank as the fifth-worst mark in the league. Murray should have plenty of opportunities to reach the over on his 3-point prop, with this game featuring a 237.5-point total.

Nicolas Claxton Over 17.5 Points

This star-studded matchup between the Nets and Lakers has lost nearly all of its appeal, with LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Kevin Durant all ruled out for tonight’s contest. Despite this game seeing a severe decrease in star power, there is a betting angle that we can attack: taking Nets center Nicolas Claxton to go over 17.5 points. In nine games without Durant, Claxton has scored 18 or more points in six of those games while averaging 18.9 points per game.

With no James and Davis, the Lakers will have a difficult time keeping this game competitive. The Nets are nearly double-digit favorites, implied for 119.5 points. Claxton has scored 20 or more points in five of his last six games, and our NBA Model has him projected for 19.7 points in this matchup. The Lakers play at the second-fastest Pace in the league while allowing 118.1 points per game, which ranks as the fourth-most. They also allow 52.7 points per game in the paint, which ranks 25th. Overall, this is an excellent matchup for Claxton to continue with his career-best season.
