Week 1 is in the books, which means we now have a full game of real data for every team and a much better sense of how each coach views each player’s role and usage.
However, football is a volatile sport. A game’s specific script, matchup, and sheer luck are what ultimately show up in the box score. That’s why I love Week 2. It’s the first week when I have “something” to project from other than last year’s memories, camp/beat reports, limited preseason action, and coachspeak.
Be sure to check out all the updates we made for the 2026-2027 NFL season to our Season-Long, Best Ball, and Survivor tools.
We now get to see coaches tip their hands, while the public is going to overreact to a lot of what we saw in Week 1. It’s important not to overreact too much to Week 1 results, but a lot of the underlying usage is going to be stickier. That’s what I’m latching onto when looking ahead to Week 2.
Having said that, there is already a lot of data, news, injuries, usage notes, and matchup context to sort through. Like most weeks, there could be some shake-ups between now and my final ranks closer to kickoff on Sunday. So be sure to check my updated ranks later in the week for any sit/start decisions, as those will always be the best reflection of where I land once we have more information.
With that said, let’s dive into the Week 2 tiers!
