Fantasy Flex Podcast: Top Fantasy Football Running Backs – Part 1
Chris Raybon and Sean Koerner begin with Bijan Robinson and Saquon Barkley, debating whether Bijan’s 75–25 snap split with Tyler Allgeier limits his upside compared to Barkley, or if Barkley’s massive 2024 workload and injury history present more risk. They agree Barkley remains in the top two, but note why Bijan now often goes RB1.
They move to Jahmyr Gibbs (RB3), praising his explosive talent and role growth alongside David Montgomery, then discuss Christian McCaffrey’s age (29), injury history, and Shanahan’s tendency to overuse backs — leaving both cautious on drafting him early. Derrick Henry earns respect for defying age curves and now running behind Baltimore’s elite offense, while rookie Ashton Jeanty is labeled a generational prospect with immediate workhorse potential despite questions about the Raiders’ overall offense.

De’Von Achane’s elite receiving role is highlighted, with differing opinions on how much Miami’s offensive health impacts his value. Jonathan Taylor is viewed as a safe, high-floor option lacking pass-game volume. Josh Jacobs draws some skepticism for possible workload regression on a less run-heavy Packers team.
Both are bullish on Bucky Irving, who flashed RB1 upside down the stretch and could improve with more touches. Chase Brown earns strong praise from Raybon as a “sleeping giant” after commanding an 85% snap share late in 2024, while Koerner is more reserved but acknowledges clear workload security.
They close with Kyren Williams, fresh off a three-year extension, as another high-floor, workhorse back in Sean McVay’s system. The pair emphasize that Jacobs and McCaffrey are the riskiest of this group at cost, while Jeanty, Brown, Irving, and Williams could all return top-five value.
Strategically, they recommend often starting with an elite WR in Round 1, then targeting two of these RBs in Rounds 2–3 to capture upside while avoiding the inflated costs at the very top.
