Fantasy Flex Podcast: Top Fantasy Football Wide Receivers – Part 1
This Fantasy Flex Podcast episode, part one of their 2025 “Wide Receiver Week,” features hosts Chris Raybon and Sean Koerner breaking down the WR1 tier — the top 12 wide receivers according to Yahoo Fantasy rankings. Both emphasize the importance of securing multiple elite receivers early, targeting “four receivers in the first seven-eight rounds” due to an “arms race” happening in competitive leagues.
Ja’Marr Chase earns unanimous endorsement as the clear WR1 and potential #1 overall pick. At age 25, entering his prime, Chase’s 20 points per game last season were 4.5 more than the next receiver. His combination of elite talent, proven chemistry with Joe Burrow, and high-volume passing offense makes him the safest early-round choice.
Justin Jefferson remains WR2 despite hamstring concerns and rookie QB J.J. McCarthy, with both hosts trusting Minnesota’s QB-proof system. CeeDee Lamb faces questions about volume under new coordinator Brian Schottenheimer, while Nico Collins gets mixed reviews — Sean ranks him WR5 for his elite talent and Houston’s expected pass-heavy approach, but Chris worries about the offensive line limiting explosive plays.

Puka Nakua emerges as a favorite, with Chris calling him a potential top-3 receiver despite Matthew Stafford’s back concerns. They view any Stafford injury as a “buy-the-dip” opportunity since Jimmy Garoppolo should maintain Puka’s slot-heavy role effectively.
Malik Nabers draws skepticism due to his nagging toe injury — both hosts prefer avoiding first-round risks and would rather target Brian Thomas Jr., whom they rank higher than consensus (WR5 for both). Thomas gets compared to Randy Moss with his size-speed combination and should benefit significantly from Liam Cohen’s slot-heavy scheme.
Amon-Ra St. Brown gets strong support despite Detroit’s coordinator changes, while Drake London represents excellent value with Michael Penix Jr. potentially unlocking more downfield opportunities. A.J. Brown remains reliable but unspectacular, while Ladd McConkey shouldn’t be affected much by Keenan Allen’s signing.
They close by noting Tee Higgins as a natural break point — solid as a WR1-2 but risky as a WR3 given his injury history and secondary role behind Chase.
The hosts emphasize this tier offers excellent value and safety, setting up part two covering WR13-24 and future episodes on WR3 sleepers and rookie drafts.
