Saturday Betr Picks: Texas vs. Missouri and BYU vs. Utah

Betr Picks uses More or Less projections instead of traditional sportsbook odds.

Betr’s actual projections were not available when these picks were built, so the numbers below are estimates based on season production and recent games.

Check Betr’s live projections before submitting an entry.

PlayerGameStatProjection (around, estimate)Pick
Austin Simmons (MIZ)Texas vs. MissouriPassing yards229.5Less
Jamal Roberts (MIZ)Texas vs. MissouriRushing yards104.5Less
Devon Dampier (UTAH)BYU vs. UtahRushing yards44.5More
Bear Bachmeier (BYU)BYU vs. UtahPassing yards214.5Less

Austin Simmons Passing Yards: Less (around 229.5, estimate)

Simmons has been efficient this season, but his yardage has varied significantly by matchup.

He threw for 340 yards against Florida and 339 at Ole Miss, but only 147 against Texas A&M and 179 against Arkansas.

Texas presents the toughest defensive matchup on Missouri’s schedule. If the Longhorns control a game that stays in the low 40s, Simmons should have trouble clearing this number.

Pick: Less than around 229.5 passing yards

I’d pass if Betr posts him around 205 or lower.

Jamal Roberts Rushing Yards: Less (around 104.5, estimate)

Roberts has topped 1,000 rushing yards and enters in excellent form, including three 100-yard games in his last four.

The matchup is the problem.

Texas has the defensive front to limit early-down rushing efficiency, and a Longhorns lead would eventually force Missouri to throw more often.

Ahmad Hardy’s return also gives the Tigers another back to mix into the workload.

Pick: Less than around 104.5 rushing yards

I’d want the projection around 100 or higher. If Betr posts Roberts in the 80s, I’d pass.

Devon Dampier Rushing Yards: More (around 44.5, estimate)

Dampier has not been a high-volume runner every week, but Utah has leaned on his legs more in important games.

He rushed for 150 yards against Houston and carried 17 times against Kansas.

In a ranked rivalry game, his rushing ability gives Utah another way to sustain drives and control possession.

Pick: More than around 44.5 rushing yards

I’d still consider the More around 49.5, but not much higher.

Bear Bachmeier Passing Yards: Less (around 214.5, estimate)

Bachmeier’s passing production sits around this range in a typical game, but Utah presents one of his toughest defensive tests of the season.

The Utes have consistently limited scoring opportunities and can force BYU into longer third downs.

If Utah controls the game and keeps the total around the high 40s, Bachmeier may have trouble generating enough passing volume to clear this projection.

Pick: Less than around 214.5 passing yards

If Betr posts him at 199.5 or lower, I’d pass.

Bottom Line on Saturday’s Slate

The Betr promo code FLABS gives eligible new users four No Sweat tokens worth up to $200 back in Betr Bucks, plus a Free Pick.

For Saturday, my four Betr Picks are:

  • Austin Simmons Less on passing yards

  • Bear Bachmeier Less on passing yards

The card is built around Texas and Utah winning lower-scoring games.
