NBA Trend of the Day: Players with High Bargain and Pro Trend Ratings

We truly believe here at FantasyLabs that we have the most unique tools and data available to DFS users. However, we also realize that those tools and data are only as awesome and helpful as our ability to effectively communicate how to use everything. As such, we will continually listen to feedback of what you need and try our best to teach our subscribers how to use all of the cool things we have to offer.

With this in mind, we’ve begun a “Trend of the Day” series. Every weekday we’ll walk our subscribers through an important trend for that day’s slate of games.

When I pulled up our Player Models page this morning, the first thing that struck me was how much green there was. From matchups to prices, we’ve got a small slate that will have some really exploitable situations. In an attempt to flesh out some value tonight, I want to test out two of our more powerful metrics in tandem, as I believe they’re natural partners.

Today’s Trend will focus on players that have both a high Bargain Rating and Pro Trend Rating, which should provide us with a population of players with exploitable prices in positive situations.

Step 2: Trends > Bargain Rating > Set to “90 to 100”

Step 3: Trends > Pro Trends Rating > Set to “90 to 100”

Pro Trends

And now let’s get a look at those results.

Trend

Not a bad Plus/Minus rating for such a simple Trend. What I particularly noticed was that adding the Pro Trends filter didn’t have a huge impact on the final results – it boosted the average Plus/Minus by +0.10 – which really speaks to the power of the Bargain Rating metric and the fact that you should be utilizing it in your research, and ideally as a part of your models as well.

Finally, let’s check out which players are matches for this Trend this evening.

And there you have it. Good luck tonight!
