mlb-dfs-draftkings-fanduel-june-19

Sunday’s main slate features seven games starting at 7:15 pm ET. We will be using Bales Model to highlight some pitchers and batters to consider when making your lineups!

Pitchers

The four pitchers projected for the most fantasy points today are:

Walker Buehler

Framber Valdez

Lance Lynn

Drew Smyly

The most expensive pitcher on the slate is Walker Buehler from the Los Angeles Dodgers. Buehler has pitched great this year, currently holding a 6-0 record with a 2.38 ERA. He has not allowed a run in his last 14 innings on the mound and has increased his K/BB rate (4.5) since last year. Tonight, Buehler will be pitching against the Arizona Diamondbacks who are currently on a 15-game losing streak. The Diamondbacks are projected for the lowest implied runs total on the slate of 3.7 runs.

Another undefeated pitcher, although making much fewer starts, is Framber Valdez from the Houston Astros. Valdez is currently 3-0 with a 1.42 ERA in four outings this year. In 25.1 innings pitched, he has struck out 24 opposing batters while walking seven. Valdez has allowed one earned run in each of his four starts, however, he does rate very highly on Bales Model due to his strong start to the 2021 campaign. Today, Valdez will be pitching against the AL Central leading Chicago White Sox who have only scored three runs to begin this four-game series.

Lance Lynn from the Chicago White Sox will be on the mound today hoping to continue his 2021 dominance. Lynn currently boasts a 7-2 record with a 1.51 ERA. In 71.2 innings pitched he has struck out 80 opposing batters while walking only 20. Bales Model considers Lynn as one of the main pitching options to fade as he will be throwing against the Houston Astros. The Astros are currently on a 5-game winning streak in which they have averaged eight runs a game.

Bales Model projects Drew Smyly as the highest fantasy point/salary pitcher on tonight’s slate. Smyly has been extremely inconsistent this year, currently owning a 3-3 record and a 5.63 ERA. In his last outing against the Miami Marlins, Smyly allowed six hits in five innings pitched while striking out six opposing batters. Hoping to have another solid start, Smyly will be on the mound tonight facing the St Louis Cardinals. Weather is a possible concern in this game as current projections read 69% precipitation and 91% humidity. Please double check on this game’s status as there may be delays.

Value

A couple low-priced pitchers that are highly rated on Bales Model tonight are Josh Fleming and Patrick Sandoval.

Josh Fleming has been decent in his 2021 campaign, currently holding a 6-4 record and 3.20 ERA. In tonight’s game, Fleming will be pitching against the Seattle Mariners who have the second-worst team batting average in MLB (.216).

Although Patrick Sandoval has a worse record (1-2) and ERA (3.51) compared to Fleming, his K/9 (8.139) is much higher. Sandoval will be pitching against the Detroit Tigers today who have the second-most team strikeouts in MLB (708).

Hitters

Notable Stack

Today’s top stack comes to you from the +100 Milwaukee Brewers:

  • Kolten Wong (L)
  • Dan Vogelbach (L)
  • Christian Yelich (L)
  • Avisail Garcia (R)

Projected to have the fourth-highest implied runs total on the slate of 5.3, the Brewers will be up to bat against Austin Gomber from the Colorado Rockies who has pitched extremely well his last three starts. In his last 19 innings on the mound, Gomber allowed only one run on 11 hits, while striking out 14 batters. The Brewers have recently struggled, losers of their last five games, but are more than due for a big day at the plate. On FanDuel, this stack will cost you $14.6k in salary and are projected for a combined 51.6 fantasy points.

Other Hitters

Bales Model projects Mookie Betts as one of the highest floor plays on the slate. Although Betts’ hitting numbers are down so far on the year, he has reached base safely in his last eight games and is rated the second highest batter on Bales Model for DraftKings tonight.

Another batter highly rated on Bales Model is Raimel Tapia from the Colorado Rockies. Tapia is currently enjoying a 15-game hitting steak in which he has 10 multi-hit games. Oddly enough, his price has dropped recently on both DraftKings and FanDuel even with these strong performances. Pro Trends considers Tapia a huge bargain on both DraftKings and FanDuel aa he is 98% and 83% respectively.

Value

Lastly, here is a handful of batters to consider while completing your lineups today that are projected for a high fantasy points/salary:

  • Matt Beaty
  • Abraham Toro
  • Josh Rojas
  • Joey Votto
  • Luis Torrens
