Super Bowl LVII – Three Player Prop Picks

Prop bets are the way to go when wagering on the Super Bowl. There are hundreds available, many of which offer value to the bettor. The hard part is finding the best ones. Here are three player prop bets that we think have value and also have a fair chance of winning. Feel free to use them with your newly acquired bet credits, via our bet365 bonus code.

Isiah Pacheco Over 15.5 Receiving Yards (-110 on bet365)

Isiah Pacheco is the top running back for the Chiefs. That doesn’t always mean a lot because the Chiefs pass far more often than they rush. In the AFC Championship game, QB Patrick Mahomes attempted 43 passes, completing 29 of them. The team had just 20 rushing attempts that day, three of which were Mahomes running the ball himself. Isiah Pacheco had 10 rushing attempts during the Championship game, but ended up with just 26 yards. However, he was also targeted six times, which was third behind Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Travis Kelce. Pacheco ended up with five receptions for 59 yards.

Much of the focus on predicting the Chiefs offense against the Eagles is how many times they will throw to Travis Kelce. He is expected to have a great game, but if the Chiefs game plan is even a little bit similar to the game plan they drew up for the AFC Championship game, Pacheco will be a large part of the offense and should see some passes thrown his way, particularly with Kadarius Toney still nursing an injury. The Over seems like a reasonable play here.

A.J. Brown Anytime TD Scorer (+125 on bet365)

It seems like A.J. Brown has dropped off the radar a bit. He had a great year for the Eagles, averaging 17 yards per catch and scoring 11 TDs as the team’s #1 receiver. Those are great numbers! But his role in Philadelphia’s two playoff games was much more limited. He only had 50 yards receiving and 7 receptions over two games. The reason he had such low numbers is because the Eagles ran the ball a lot (88 rushing attempts vs. 49 passing attempts). They were ahead for much of both games and the outcome was never in doubt. Why pass it when you have a huge lead?

It is highly unlikely that they will have a huge lead against the Chiefs in the Super Bowl. A.J. Brown figures to regain his spot as QB Jalen Hurts’ #1 target during the Big Game, and it seems reasonable to assume he will be targeted a few times in the end zone. Getting plus-money on him to score a TD is a good value because most expect him to have a great game on Sunday.

Patrick Mahomes Over 25.5 Passing Completions (-115 on bet365)

Patrick Mahomes is a passing QB. Everyone knows that. During the 2022 regular season, he averaged 25.58 completions per game. In the two playoff games, he averaged 25.5 completions per game. Hmm, could that be why the line here is Over/Under 25.5 completions? Clearly, so why are we taking the Over? Because in the AFC Championship game he had 29 completions on an injured ankle. During the AFC Divisional game against the Jaguars, he had 22 completions but didn’t play for part of the game.

It seems obvious that the Chiefs will pass the ball a lot. But will Mahomes, who is now fully healthy, get 26 or more completions against a dominant Eagles secondary? He may not have a lot of long completions, but he will have a lot of dump-off passes and short passes across the middle to TE Travis Kelce, his favorite target. It’s hard to bet the Under against a healthy Mahomes, and we aren’t going to start today. Take the Over.
