Netherlands (+125 to advance) vs. Argentina (-175 to advance) – Brazil might be entertaining to watch, but the Netherlands-Argentina match should be much more competitive. The Dutch team is known for its technical and defensive-oriented strategy, which they executed to perfection against the US last week. Argentina will be a much tougher test, to say the least, but they have their vulnerabilities, particularly if the Dutch defense can frustrate Messi. Argentina never really put away the lesser Australian squad in the Knockout Round, and did suffer a stunning upset to Saudi Arabia in the first game of the tournament. This game will be tightly contested, and capitalizing on the smallest mistake may be what sends the winner on to the Semifinals. A regular time tie (+220) could be a good wagering option for those looking for plus-money value, or even Under 1.5 goals at +165. Scoring will be at a premium in this contest.
