NFL Week 5 — BetMGM Odds

Oct. 9, 1 p.m. ET

  • Steelers at Bills (-14, 45.5)

The Mitch Trubisky era in black and gold was brief and forgettable. The Steelers are hoping that the beginning of the Kenny Pickett era, in his first full start, will be much more memorable. The Steelers haven’t been a 14-point dog in decades and will indeed have their hands full with the Bills, who most have pegged as the future champions of the AFC.

  • Chargers (-2.5, 47.5) at Browns

The Chargers will travel across the country following a bounce-back victory against the Texans. Nick Chubb has been an animal for the Browns this season and he’ll be a focal point of the Cleveland attack. His rushing prop lines have been gaining a lot of steam on BetMGM.

  • Vikings (-7.5, 44) at Bears

Minnesota will return to the United States after a thrilling victory in London last week against the Saints. Vegas doesn’t believe the travel will hinder the Vikings’ chances of knocking off the Bears, as Kirk Cousins and company are a comfortable 7.5-point favorite on BetMGM.

  • Lions at Patriots (3.5, 45.5)

This definitely isn’t the same New England brand of football we’ve been accustomed to seeing over the past two decades. Detroit has been playing very competitive football this season, despite dealing with significant injuries to many starters, including De’Andre Swift and D.J. Chark. Can Dan Campbell’s team inch closer to .500 and give Motor City something to cheer about this weekend?

  • Seahawks at Saints (-5.5, 46)

It’s not guaranteed, but it looks like the Saints will have Alvin Kamara back this week against a Seattle team that gave up over 40 points last week to the Lions. Rookie receiver Chris Olave has been as advertised, as the Saints appear to be rightful home favorites.

  • Dolphins (-3, 46) at Jets

Teddy Bridgewater received a full week-plus of first-team reps after he filled the injured Tua Tagovailoa during the middle of Thursday Night Football last week. The Dolphins will take on Zach Wilson and the Jets, who have some momentum following a thrilling win against Pittsburgh last Sunday.

  • Falcons at Buccaneers (-9.5, 46.5)

Tom Brady post-divorce game! Kyle Pitts was ruled out for Atlanta on Friday, so that’s one less weapon that the Falcons will have. Chris Godwin looked to be trending in the right direction for Tampa Bay after a solid appearance last week, as Tampa Bay is a rightful heavy favorite Sunday afternoon.

  • Titans (-1.5, 43) at Commanders

Derrick Henry looked quite good during Tennesee’s AFC South victory against the Colts last week. Both teams could be without highly touted rookie receivers Treylon Burks (TEN) and Jahon Dotson (WAS). The Commanders are desperate for a win to keep pace in the NFC East.

  • Texans at Jaguars (-7, 43.5)

The Jaguars have been a pleasant surprise this season. Anything is an improvement from the Urban Meyer era, right? The Jags look to be South contenders after four weeks of football. Houston’s rookie tailback Dameon Pierce had his breakout part last week and will look to replicate that performance to keep the Texans in the ballgame.

  • 49ers (-6.5, 39.5) at Panthers

It was a huge win for the 49ers in prime time last week against the Rams. They’ll have a tough task traveling to the east coast to visit the Panthers. Baker Mayfield hasn’t proved to be the answer this season, but as long as CMC, Moore and Anderson are healthy, there are always opportunities for game-changing splash plays.

  • Cowboys at Rams (-5.5, 43)

Cooper Rush just keeps winning! Matthew Stafford does not. The Rams are the more talented team on paper, but one could argue that Dallas is in much better form through four weeks of action. Something has to give, will talent or momentum prevail?

  • Eagles at Cardinals (-5.5, 49)

The Eagles are the only undefeated team in the NFL. Philly will have arguably its toughest challenge of the season, traveling across the country to deal with an explosive, mobile quarterback in Kyler Murray. Jalen Hurts has taken a massive professional leap in 2022 and has been a gigantic part of Philadelphia’s success.
